Hi folks,

Not been in here a while since I moved.

We just submitted my I-485 paperwork about two three weeks ago (check my timeline, I don't remember).

Just got an RFE notice today via email.

I can imagine it'll be one of two things:

1: I didn't submit the civil surgeon's thingy... I just sent in my DS##### form. I saw other people had sucess doing this.

2: The amounts on my co-sponsor's tax transcripts and what she currently earns don't match - that's because she got a raise since last tax year.

Number 2 I can fix with letters from her employer (again!). Number 1 I guess I'll just have to go to the civil surgeon, which by a stroke of luck would be my co-sponsors employer :)

(Mother in law works for a Dr).

We submitted all the evidence they needed vis a vis the marriage certificate, copies of passport pages and stuff. etc.

I'm not _as_ worried as I was with the K1 visa process. At least I'm in country now. :)

David.

Exactly how I feel about AOS RFEs. Your day to day life won't be much different with a short delay.

They could have lost your whole medical. I doubt anybody has looked at your I-864 yet. Those kinds of RFEs come from the adjudicator just before approval. At only 2 weeks, it's a contractor checking your file for completeness. Still a ####### to have to fix something. And the wording on their one-size-fits-all RFEs often leaves people wondering what the heck they want. Example I've seen more than once--"medical exam was not completed within one year" turns out to really be "doctor forgot to sign it"... Or some words similar.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Thanks NN.

We'll see. Probably just saw that it say: incomplete (due to time interval).

and decided to ask for something else.

Like I said, the mother in law works for the local civil surgeon so he isn't likely to rip me off. It was just an extra hassle I didn't want when I was putting the paperwork together.

If they don't have my medical/brown packet, do I have to get an Infopass appt?

If they RFE with something that says "we have done a complete seach of you records and do not have a medical report..." it means you have to do a full medical exam again. That's the blood tests, TB clearance, etc. I spoke with Knightsbridge on the phone not long ago, and the nurse told me they do not keep a record of your visa exam there because it's a contract medical for a third party (Embassy)so they send everything off and are done with you. It would be different if you were their private patient. Then they would keep your records for a number of years. The embassy also does not keep a file. They put everything in that envelope you turn in at POE.

Best to just wait and see what they say because we're just speculating now. Could it be you didn't prove co-sponsor is a USC or something wasn't signed? That's common too.

Also got a notice in email today to say our case got transferred... didn't say where to though... Hopefully it means I don't get an interview?

Well that's good news. No interview. Our last interview was in London. Got both AOS and Removing Conditions without. The transfer makes me wonder if you really have an RFE. If it was something in the initial application missing, seems like they would wait on it before sending it on to process. And if there was a specific "I can't approve you until..." thing, it would be the adjudicator at CSC who would issue an RFE. Exactly what did the email say?

Case status is Initial Review... from evidence requested. Maybe a glitch?

I did my biometrics today with no drama, in and out in 10 minutes. The hour drive there and an hour back was fun though in the pouring rain.

This one is the follow-up after the case was transferred to CSC. It's the way they say it arrived at CSC. There's always two notifications--one says "we sent it" and the other says "we got it".

Doesn't sound like your case is suspended for an RFE. I would call USCIS next week and tell them you got an RFE message, but two weeks has passed and you haven't received it in the mail.

Thanks NN. I will do that.

The case status says Initial Review (again) so I wonder if its possible someone clicked the wrong button... Or thought I needed an RFE but hen magically found what they needed (maybe I didn't list it on the cover sheet, or it was clipped together too much)

Who knows. I'll check in a week or so and find out.

Glad it went to CSC - fingers crossed they don't RFE me for the London Medical form being "incomplete".
