Fiancee traveling during K1 process for Cruise

I have seen various answers regarding visiting during the K1 process and I have a slightly different question. The link on the FAQs for this for Mexican and Canadian Fiancees is not working.

Here is the scenario. My Mexican fiancee and I are currently waiting for our NOA2. She holds a valid tourist visa and has traveled to the US several times without problems. Her friend just won tickets for a cruise and wants my fiancee to go with her. The cruise leaves from Miami and is in mid March. So the question would be if we still have not scheduled our interview and do not have the visa will there be any problems to enter. I am assuming that if we are so lucky to have had the interview and visa at that point she will not be able enter with the fiancee visa and then travel on the cruise to other countries?

Thanks for your answers..

K-1 visa is 1 time entry permit into USA and is dead when activated POE. If your fiance enters with K-1 visa, goes on her cruise and attempts to reenter she will be denied and you will begin the entire process again.

Best advice is to postpone the interview until after the cruise or give the cruise away to a friend.

So if we make the interview appointment for after she returns there should be no problems? Even though we are pretty far along in the process would it still be fine? Would leaving Mexico a little before the interview cause any red flags?

You can delay the interview depending on the validity date of the NOA-2 when you receive it. NOA-2 approval is good for 4 months and is automatically extended by the Embassy if they are unable to interview you before it expires (if it is their fault).

Where are you in the process? Have you received your NOA-2? If not, what is your NOA-1 date?

Coming to the USA on a tourist visa while processing K-1 is not that unusual. As long as your fiance brings proof of ties to home as well as presents the ticket for the cruise she should be fine.
