I don't know where he called from but there was so much static it was horrible. He had to say this maybe 7-8 times so I'm not positive, but know he said that he is getting it, I think he said tuesday. I just don't know anything else. I dont know any questions they asked, I don't know if they kept his passport or will call him, in fact I really hope I heard that much right....

I'll come back as soon as I hear from him again

I heard him right.....she kept his passport, swore him in and congratulated him. Said to pick it up Tuesday. He said he was interviewed by an american woman and she was nice to him and only asked a few questions. She asked how we met, how long I visited for and to see pictures. I sent him a photo album to take-so glad I did. He said she recognised that some were in jordan some were egypt and they talked what we did there and she didn't ask to see anything else. the interview was in english, the swearing in was in arabic and it was over very fast. From VJ I have learned to not to relax until the visa is in the passport, in your hands so I don't want to forget that....but I think he's getting a visa.

I think all the well wishing and prayers and mojo all worked on this at once because I totally didn't see this coming. I never doubted he'd get a visa, but I didn't think he'd get it easily. I was all psyched up for extra review time and returning later with back-up evidence and ....he goes in there making small talk about a trip to egypt! I told him that he must have flirted with her because thats not how it goes and he says NOOOO! and gets defensive then says "well maybe". Whatever. I am so tired now I can't see straight so thats ok with me. Thank you everybody for everything nice you've said to me because I don't know how this would have gone if I was on my own with this. Later everybody

Wooohooooooooo Dawn !!!! :dance::thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance:

This is fantastic news !!! After all the recent shenanigans at consulates, I am so happy and so relieved that someone finally got a decent interview experience !!!

You had a long long ride, and I know you don't want to count your chickens before they're hatched.... but they kept the passport.... as you know by now, that's a good sign they're ready to issue. So I will go ahead and say it....

(L) Congratulations Dawn & Hatem !!!! (L)

Insha'allah he will have the visa before 1 week.... and be jetting off to your arms so soon !! Be ready, girl.... it's all coming true !!!

Al7amdolallah for everything

thanks everybody. you're all so nice. MK, the consolates really have been fussy. This took me by suprise too. I'll take it...I'm not complaining, just suprised. I hope Kelly and her husband get this lady too. I was under the impression that she was a difficult interviewer, perhaps they have 2 american women interviewers, I don't know but apparently a smile I guess can go a long way with this one.

On another note, Hatem overheard one interview go bad today when the guy was asked how he met his wife. he said his brother in the us introduced them, the interviewer asked about if the marriage was arranged and something else...and the guy said it wasn't arranged, we were just introduced and we started a relationship...he was told to come back another day with more proof of the marriage relationship. Anyway I guess the moral is that you cant have any signs that an arrangement was even posible. (which I think is stupid in an area where matchmaking is a family function, but whatever)Thanks again everybody.
