Why not from a country whose good citizens are treated like reptiles when they apply for a tourist visa to the USA? Or one where you are guaranteed a year of AP on top of everything else? I mean, c'mon, UK? It is hardly even a foreign country, relatively speaking

Yeah we are treated like reptiles. but usually the way isn't faking documents. Its marrying a guy that's old enough to be your grandpaw.

An old movie, "Green Card" is kind of fun to watch also with lots of great humor.

I dunno if French got VWP too.

Happy New Year!

OK, but I have to say that the movie lacks impact when the foreign beneficiary is from a VWP country and can come visit anytime they want, and vice versa.

Actually, the girl in the movie overstays her student visa and gets a ban so that's a whole nother issue.

Just because it's about an American/UK couple doesn't mean they don't go through hardships that everyone else does... we still have to say good bye at the airports just like everyone else :(

This looks like a really good movie! I wish I could see it!

Oh my goodness I want to see this!!!! It is only showing in select theaters in Los Angeles and New York. :-( I know what they mean by overstaying the visa. My fiancé hasn't done this, because I have engrained how bad it is into his head! An Irish friend of mine overstayed his visa and lived in the US for 5 years, well when he got caught he was banned for life. It's serious business. I can so relate to her....the look at the airport like your heart has just jumped in your throat, trying to figure out the time difference and catch each other at a free moment to talk. I hope it goes to more theaters!!!! :)

You're a fine example of the point I was making. If she does drag you to see that movie, may your trauma be minimal.

Thanks for the concern lol

but i have been told that it doesn't come out here in the UK till Feb, by that time my wife will be setting up home for us over there so whilst i'm waiting for a visa i can go back to watching films with helicopter gunships and lots of explosions, or of course anything with a fart joke in it.my wife never really liked those sorts of films lol

Great, then something or somebody is watching over you... lol! When it comes out on dvd, that will be her "gotcha" but you can always fall asleep after 10 minutes.
