I am looking for advice on best place to stay in Manila.

Planning on going back to the Philippines for about Month.

Like some place with comfortable bed and air conditioning.

Like to find out about the nicest places for the money.

Also the most basic but clean budget places.

Where are the better areas to stay in Manila?

My Past Trips I have just Stayed in Cebu Mostly and liked it a lot there in Manila have only stayed near Mega Mall.

If a place has a fitness center is a big plus but not required. Price and comfortable bed and air conditioning is most important.

Whereabouts specifically in Manila and what's ur price range?

The best bet for me was Tropicana- Apt- Suites Hotel in Malate.I have stayed there many times.its like a timeshare with living room Area and bedroom area.they have A/C hot and cold Shower,/Bath, Fridge Cooking Hot plate with 4 burners and all the utensils you would need including plates and dishes and forks and spoons. they have daily Housekeepers that keep your room spotless including cleaning behind you if you leave dirty dishes. Its a few steps to Robinsons Mall and other shops in Malate. the Address is 1630 luis Maria Guerrero st. email address is....www.tropicanasuites.com.ph..... the rates is 40.00 plus for all this. Good deal!

That sounds like a great deal, is it a pretty clean place and well kept as for as maintenance?

Looks like you are not going to get the $42/day rate if you are not going to get the monthly rate. We'll surely try this hotel before I leave.

Let me know how you liked at! when you check in ask for Linda Lainez, reservations manager, tell her you were referred to thier Facility!

I went with my friends to the Philippines a year ago, and we stayed at City Gardens in Manila. They have stayed there every year that they go to the Philippines, so they like it. I was along as their guest, so I didn't even know the cost, but I don't think it was really expensive. The rooms were very clean, nice, hot and cold water, airconditioning, and a very good breakfast each morning. It is very close to Robinsons. I would recomend it with very accomodating staff. I don't know what it cost however.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to stay there, sounds like a good reasonable place to stay and not break the bank. I tend to gravitate to Makati, I like the feel of the area, the restuarants and the shopping.

With the screening of "everyone that comes in" how will guest accompanied by me be treated? Will they get screened or will they be allowed to enter without delay or hassle?

I appreciate your input.

Heres how that works! The Security Officers have a podium with phone right outside Main Entrance. When your guests come to visit you they will ask them the name of the Guest they come to visit. they have a list of ALL guests in the Hotel. they look for your name on the list and room number. they then will call your room and state that so and so is here to visit you. YOU give the ok to have them enter and use Elevator to come to your room, its that simple. thats all it is about the screening process. Registered guests they already know by your comings and going and will not ask you anything just greet you and open entrance Glass door for you. They have your Comfort and Security in mind! Oh BTW if you have guest accompanied by you, they wont say anything. Its the individuals that come alone they screen!

Yes, A.Venue is not for the budget conscious if you will stay for a month, but it is nice.

I agree with you, more money for shopping is good.

Ok great, although the rates are closer to $58.00 rather than $40.00, I will keep them high on the list, considering my next trip will be a 3 month stay.

I checked the reviews and the website, looks nice for the price.

Thanks.
