dont stress out about this, you can get both of those documents. You can go online and order your 1040 and W2's. I had to do this for our K1 interview, and was able to get the 1040s within 30 minutes.

I dont remember the website that i used, but there are tons of resources online. I hope this helps!

thanx。 i login the website. and see 2 paragraphs.. but i dont know the difference between that..

"You can now order your transcript(s) using our new Order a Transcript application. Or you can fill out our new Short Form Request for Individual Tax Return Transcripts, (Form 4506T-EZ). This streamlined will help taxpayers get their return information quickly and easily. If you or your business needs information from other IRS forms, such as Form W-2 or Form 1099, you can use Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return, to get it. You can download these forms from the links on the right side of this page or order them from our self-service line at 1-800-908-9946. If you order form(s) by phone, follow the prompts and select 3, then 1 to quickly complete your order. Once you get your transcript order form, complete it, sign it and send it to the address listed in the instructions. Either way, you can expect to get your transcript within 5 to 10 days from the time we receive your signed request.""\

and

"If you need an exact copy of a previously filed and processed tax return and all attachments (including Form W-2), you should complete Form 4506 (PDF), Request for Copy of Tax Return. Mail the form to the address in the instructions, along with a $57.00 fee for each tax year requested. Make your check or money order payable to the "United States Treasury." Copies are generally available for returns filed in the current and past six years. Copies of jointly filed tax returns may be requested by either spouse and only one signature is required. Allow 60 calendar days to receive your copies.‘’

it SEEMS that the first way is free and fast. but i have to apply 1040 and w2 separately.. the second way costs me 57 dollars and it ups to 60 days get them.

i am confused about that..

First of all you ONLY need the transcripts--not the 1040 and W-2, so take the first choice. If you read the instructions carefully you will see that NVC PREFERS the transcripts, so as long as you are ordering, you might as well get all three years transcripts--it will make your life easier.

You should call the IRS with the phone provided in your previous post. I recommend you that when you do so... you are by a fax machine (if you don't have a fax machine, go to office max or office depot and get their fax number, call IRS using your cell and they will send the transcripts immediately) USCIS accepts the fax transcripts.

Good luck

Tell your husband to go to this website: http://www.irs.gov/

He'll be able to order the 2010 transcript from there.

IRS Tax Transcripts http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html

but - suggest instead of the return itself, he send off the tax transcripts.

Note there are two types. tax return transcript is usually adequate, unless he had to have any adjustment after the initial filing; if that's the case - he needs both types per year.

Suggest to get 3 years worth, GUZ IV usually wants to see 3 years.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
