Student loan

I will make it short.

My school is a Technical college who only gives Federal Pell Grant. But the grants won't cover everything for my school expenses. (I am a type of person who doesn't want to be a free loader to the husband) So I pay for my own school expenses.

So, my question is, Does anybody here ever attended College that only gives Pell grants, but doesn't have student loan option? What did you guys did when you needed funds immediately but you don't want to take personal loans instead would rather the student loan?

It's sad because my bank, CHASE doesn't have unsecured loans anymore. So now, I am shoppin in other banks. Another thing is, this loan might help me build my credit.

LOCAL scholarships?! which are available only to THAT ONE SCHOOL. but you need to ask the Financial Aid Department for that.>?

You could get a private loan through Sallie Mae, but I would storngly advise you to use that as a last resort. I think Wells Fargo also offers private student loans. Have you looked at local community colleges? Their programs are often cheaper and you might qualify for state grants too.

Even Salie Mae is not a lending provider with my school. Since my school only gives out Pell grant, they dont have student loans that you can turn around if your pell wont cover your expenses.

I have spoken with my financial adviser last night, and she told me that my last resort is indeed a personal loan and I will need a co-signer for the loan.

Can you find a different school then? What program are you looking at?

Transferring to a new school is not an option. I am finishing my degree in Nursing and I have about 7 months left till. At this time, its really just about couple other things I need to cover for the expenses.

It sucks when your school is very limited on their resources for financial help.

I would suggest your husband. Couples don't normally consider helping each other as freeloading.
