Obviously women do not require different uniforms, contrary to what you wrote. They're perfectly capable of wearing the same uniforms their male counterparts do. And yet -- despite that, the RCMP offers approved variations of standard issue uniforms. Gender-neutral. And gender-specific. All of these instantly recognizable as RCMP garb. There is no problem here, no controversy. Not with women in uniform. Not with Sikhs in uniform. Except for with those who simply can't stand to see such things. And you know what such people are called, don't you?......

You are assuming way too much here Hoss, from what do you conclude I "simply can't stand such things", what do I care what the RCMP wear?

I simply contributed to the topic .... just because But I don't think I voiced any strong opposition to it.

Why don't you be a little specific and tell us what groups, life style or individuals get to request a specific "accommodation" to the uniform and uniform codes and which ones don't.

-Are face piercing acceptable?

-Overweight folks who can pass the test?

-Cross dressers?

-Amish who don't drive? (but I imagine good with Horses)

Just a little perspective, The Occupy crowd is like 4000 strong, the Boy Scout Jamboree had 40,000.

Sporadic reports of a growing police presence had been sweeping through the crowd, and finally about 200 police gathered at 19th Street and Broadway in full riot gear, walking slowly down to protesters.

Thousands of people gathered at Frank H Ogawa plaza for the 5pm start of the march, which headed south and left contingents of protesters at four different sites to guard the port. By 8pm the port had been declared closed, with some demonstrators celebrating victory and others pledging to stay until Thursday.

"I think today went amazingly well," said Laura Long, speaking before police arrived on Broadway.

I don't know, constitutionally how it could break up.

California on over to TX will soon become a latin dominated culture and political region, with the huge number of low wage earners do you think they will be so fond of their independence to give up the huge volume of Federal dollars they will collect bother individually and as state and local entities?

Lets say they become this huge financial sink-hole the rest of the country is tired of carrying, how could the rest of the country divorce its self from them?

I think it would take constitutional amendments to do it and those on the receiving end of Govt money will not ratify any attempt.

Our system of Government was never set up for a Nation of "takers".... thats what we have become.
