Once the NO2 is approved, how long do you have to complete the process?

Hello All,

We should be getting our NO2 anytime now. We both have been talking about waiting till march to fly her and her daughter here. She has a huge family reunion in Dec and her daughter graduates in march. This would also put less of a financial strain on me plus give us the opportunity to have a spring wedding since we only have 90days after her arrival to get married. As much as we both want to be together, we are trying to be patient and practical. So with that being said what is the deadline to get the visa's, and take care of the medical/interview after the NO2 approval?

Thanks,

Eddie Drotar

are you aware once the visa is approve she has 6 months to use it? if you haven't receive the noa2 yet you never know how long that will take. finish up the process because you only have the medical and the visa it self to pay for wish should only be less then 1000(depending on what vaccines she already has). why chance the applicateion expiring.

Once NOA2 is received, you have 4 months to obtain the visa. Say you get approved next month, it will expire in March 2012. As long

as your fiance works on getting all the required documents including getting the medical done, she can setup an interview just prior

to the expiration of the NOA2. Once the visa is approved/obtained, she has a 6 month window to get to the US.

It is good for 6 months that is why I stated "once the visa is approved/obtained, she has a 6 month window to get to the US."

Ok great, I knew about the visa expiring after 6months but was not sure how long we could hold off on the medical and paying for the visa's. I know someone mentioned its only 1000.00 but it will actually cost me alot more when you figure in plane tickets, hotels, food. She will be bringing her mother and father to Manila when she goes for her medical, interview and seminar. It just works out better for both of us if we wait till March. I definitely do not want to get married in the middle of winter. We was planning on getting married in Tennessee and renting a nice cabin in the Smokey Mountains. Yes it could be nice for a winter wedding but it for our pictures, family and friends it makes more sense to wait till the spring.

Thanks for all you input

Eddie

Hey, that's what we are planning also that we should get to the US sometime in March for the spring break since at my end my kids are still in school and March is end of school year here. Besides I need to finish some projects at my work. But mind you, we already finished our interview and anytime I will get my visa just waiting 2go to deliver at my doorstep. Prior to expiration of our visa we should be heading out to US, God's will.

I suggest your Fiancee should have her medical a little bit earlier from her interview since there were some cases the applicants have to undergo sputum test and have to wait for 2 months to get the results.

But if she doesn't have problem with her chest / lungs then she is Ok to have her medical even few days before interview to save time and money in traveling like in our case as we also live in another city. We (me and my kids) had our medical and interview in one week time and thank God we made it. At least now we still have lots of time to prepare for our departure and at same time on the side of my Fiance he will have time to prepare for our arrival. Just taking it one day at a time, no hurry, so we won't have so much stress. After all the bottom line is to get married and live happily together. Hope this helps. God bless and good luck to all of us in this journey ! :)
