Because adjudicators do not just work on one type of visa petition at CSC.They are rotated to work on other petitions that are lagging in time, then are switched again. It's a never ending process of rotations and playing catch up.

They work on Fridays and also some adjudicators take case files home and process from there. Then they go back to the office and update the files.

I posted that like an hour before we got our NOA2 text/ notice of approval! LOL! I'm so relieved and SO happy!! But was very very surprised to get that message on a Saturday!! So, I guess they do work whenever they want to! :)

They might work at any time, especially if they do take files home.

As for the text messages and emails, I think that those might be batched up and processed at the end of the day, ie. it's not sent immediately after the adjudicator approves the petition.

This website has a variety of statistics that people follow to try and figure out what their timelines are going to be. We can argue ad nauseam about the accuracy of said tools, but they are here because computers are good at collecting data and doing math. If you find those statistics troubling, you can ignore them. If your friend finds them troubling, she can ignore them. Indeed, I usually ignore them, but once in a while I get bored and start poking around. Are you also whining to the site administrators for publishing their processing time estimates?

Just because you had no such statistics available to you when you went through this process is no reason to get on the case of those who are using what is available today. Sounds like sour grapes; but life is like that - progress gets made on a variety of fronts.

And as for my two months, you're wrong, it's closing in on 5 - some got approved before me, some will undoubtedly wait longer than me - I remember some poor woman who was waiting almost 11 months recently, it was miserable for her and I was very happy when she finally got it. So get your facts straight before you spout anymore of your bitter nonsense.

Keep on posting WaitingInSeattle. I am waiting with you and found Barbara's comments more upsetting than someone who puts a quick quip about how they are struggling with the wait just like me. I am sick and tired of people acting like we all have to sit around and pretend like this isn't stressful. We should be able to talk about how this is driving us nuts. I don't want to read a post about someone moaning at length about it but the beauty of the site is that I can just skip that post. Perhaps, Barbara could learn from me. You know I hate reading post after post of people getting approved. I know I should be happy for them but it just makes me cranky. I am human. You don't see me blasting folks for sharing their wonderful news. It would be wonderful if someone else who knows how hard this is would allow others to be human, too. Barbara's friend might even find it comforting to know others are stressing, too. God knows no one else understands what we are going through but other VJ'ers.

I'll keep posting, only moderators who suspend my account have been able to stop me. :)

You make a really good point that only people here really get what this process is about. My dearest friends somewhat understand, lord knows they are wonderfully supportive, but being able to kvetch with people in the same boat goes a long way.

I too avoid the posts of people being approved - although there was one case where she waited almost a year for NOA2, and I was very happy to find out they got their visa eventually.
