Hello, I am filing N400 and have few questions.

1. Part 3-F I am answering yes since my mother naturalized last year but I'm old so I have to use N400. Should I put a explanation as to why I am putting yes but still submitting N400?

2. Part 4-B Instruction says to put "SAME" if my mailing address is the same as my home address(which it is). Should I put "N/A" in the "Care of" box and put "SAME" in the "Mailing Address" box or just leave everything in here blank?

thanks in advance.

Hi and Welcome to VJ!!!!

Part 3-F, you need to say yes. You can include in your package a letter explaining and then if you want you can include your mother's naturalization certificate. I am sure they see this scenario a lot so I wouldn't be too worried. Keep in mind that if they need anything from you, they will ask you to bring it to your interview...

Part 4-B, I left it blank is there is no "care of"

I filled out 4-A with my current address, left 4-B blank, and filled out 4-C with a phone number and an email address. I had no issues during my interview.

Just check "yes" in part 3-F. Don't think that you need to put in an explanation/letter or a copy of your parent's naturalization certificate. The form just refers you to the instructions and the instructions just want to make sure that you are not already a US citizen. As you indicated, you are above a certain age and do not qualify for citizenship through your parents.

I suppose I don't need to put anything they don't ask for. They can always ask later for more explanation if they like. Make sense.
