Hello everyone!:)

This is my first time posting a topic here and I'm also a newbie.:) My name is Trina and im 28 years old form manila Philippines.:)

My husband been living here in the Philippines since 2008 we just got married last 9/24/2011. since 2008 we've been living together. we are going to file our cr-1 visa by the end of November.

Some says that it will take like 2 years for process, and its easier for me to go to U.S if we did fiance visa.

Do you have any idea how long it will take for CR-1 visa?:)

thank you so much!

Good Luck to everyone!

GOD IS GREAT!!!

Thankful As Always!!!

When you are married, you can't apply for the Fiance Visa.

I don't know if it really takes that long for Visa processes in the Philippines but I personally never heard of 2 years yet.

Good luck when you apply for your CR-1!

IR1/CR1 Visa - DCF at London Embassy

April 16, 2013: Mailed out I-130

April 18, 2013: Date Petition filed
May 13, 2013: APPROVED!
May 22, 2013: Case Number received
June 3, 2013: Mailed out DS-230 & DS-2001

Unfortunately I have to re-do it in 6 + weeks as I was diagnosed with pneumonia
June 22, 2013 I traveled to the USA with the plan of returning to the UK, spoke to a Immigration lawyer and he told me to change my status and go the AOS route.
Since 2014 I am a permanent resident.

When you are Married then why you want to apply for K1 visa.By doing so you might get in trouble at some stage for hiding information. Its more advisable for you to apply for CR1.

Ooops. im sorry i think there was a misunderstanding from my post. i was trying to say is they said that FIANCE VISA will take 3 to 6 months then CR1 visa will take 1 to 2 years.

i was just wondering why fiance visa is faster than CR-1 visa? or it depends on the situation and petitioner?

Because i heard alot of stories that their husband or fiance lives in abroad and he/she will file it in his country like mail it.

In our situation we are going to file it here in US embassy manila since my husband ( american citizen ) is living and working here in the Philippines for like 3 years already.

thanks alot!

Your way will be the fastest, because you can file for the CR-1 via DCF (directly with the embassy). Check out the forum here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/82-direct-consular-filing-dcf-general-discussion/

K1 takes a little less time than a normal (not DCF) CR-1 , because you do some paperwork after arrival in the USA. But it still usually takes 8-10 months, with the CR-1 taking 8-12 months.

Hey Mrs...

The most important thing that has to be done as soon as he can is for your husband to either show that he has maintained a US domicile, or that he can prove that he will re-establish US domicile NO LATER than when you arrive in the US--it is one of the mandatory requirements that sometimes trips up the process when the USC has lived outside the US for several years. It's not hard--just want to be sure that you don't overlook it.
