Dear VJ Members. I need your help.

Finally, My K1 visa has been approved 25th Oct, 2011.

I am going to move as soon as possible. I worry about POE and flight so that what should I prepare to bring with me?

Please give me good advices and I would like to find a good flight booking website for my flight ticket.

How long does it take the processing time at US custom?

What kind of custom declaration form is there?

What should we fill in there?

Thank you. I am looking forward your good informations asap.

I'm not sure where your POE is going to be, will be a little different everywhere i guess but i can tell you about mine. Mine was at LAX a few weeks ago, i had to wait nearly an hour in line before i saw the CBP officer (this is normal for LAX though, lol). on the plane i filled out the usual customs decl. form and the white I-94. If you're not totally sure which one you'll need just ask the steward/ess on the flight, they should know which one you'll need. When i got to the desk and the CBP officer it only took about ten minutes, he checked my passport, took my customs form and I-94 then opened my yellow envelope from the consulate and checked through all of that stuff. Then he asked me a few simple questions like when the wedding is etc then did my biometrics and stamped my passport and stapled in my I-94. Was very easy and the guy was nice too.

As for flights, i went through a travel agent, I lived in adelaide so i got a one way ticket from Adelaide-Auckland-Los Angeles-Phoenix, cost just under $2000 including a week of travel insurance (i got the travel insurance incase something happened and i had to reschedule my flight or something). Someone else on here though recommended expedia to me a little while ago, there is some very good flights on there, i just don't like to book that kind of thing online.

Make sure you have your yellow envelope in your hand luggage with you. You will need that, passport plus the forms you get on the plane for the poe.
