here is the corrict information:

Proof of US Citizenship: You must submit a

photocopy of one of the following:

 Valid US Passport - biographic photo page ONLY;

OR

 State-issued Birth Certificate; OR

 Naturalization Certificate

If it is just to show whether a person is a US citizen or not, then I believe your information is correct. But I think most USCs just use their Birth Certificates or Naturalization Certificates.

To show travel between USC and beneficiary, then the other pages of the passport would be essential.

December 2009 -- Visit to Malaysia.

February 2010 -- Applied for B2 visa, approved.

March 2010 -- Visited US.

April 2010 -- Returned from US.

May 2010 -- Sent in K1 Visa application.

July 2010 -- Received NOA2 in 71 days from NOA1.

July 2010 -- Packet 3 received.

August 2010 -- Cancellation of K1 Visa application.

So in the grand scheme of things is sending in photo copies of each page a big deal? No. Whats that cost at Kinko's $2!! Lot less than wasting $3000 on a lawyer! We too used a lawyer, wish we had found VJ earlier!! if I were you, I would spend time reading the guides for whatever Visa u are going for (U didn't spend the extra 3 min in updating that, nor ur timeline) to ensure ur Lawyer is doing the proper job! As if you spend the time on VJ, you wil read MANY lawyer HORROR stories!! No 1 cares more about ur case than U!! It is simple as that! The lawyer doesnt care, he is paid, your stuck away from ur loved one! is VJ perfect? No, not at all. We had a very good lawyer which came recommended from a big well known DC law Firm and she still was not perfect! So take some time and read the guides here! They are excellent! They would have to be as many, many, many people use them! And for the record, our lawyer had us send in all pages of the passport.

The Copy of the passport is mainly to show a continued relationship with my wife.

So the guide in Visa Jouney should have more detailed information about this subject.

I guess i don't understand how this is even an issue? because some 3000$ lawyer told you so to save their-selves copying it? I don't see how it can hurt to send in all pages, especially as others have said, to prove visits to each others countries and what not. There is a very well known poster on here whose tag line is "follow the directions....really" or something very much similar to this. if it doesn't say on the directions pages that it only needs a biographic page copy specifically then i would not jump the gun and think this is the cause. VJ is priceless, and surely less then a 3000$ lawyer, it isn't perfect, but the knowledge available here is definitely worth more than any lawyer ever could be for a straight forward case.

OK, I admit I need some help. It has to do with the site and after reading here I believe it is a valid subject. And, since it is better to offer a solution when pointing out a possible problem, you will see that I have done so.

Now, what I want to talk about is the overly (I know it is only my opinion) dark blue color on parts of the VJ pages. It sounds trivial, I know, but it is important to have a good color scheme. One would think that the site creators, users, etc., would have corrected this small item by now, but as far as I know this color has been used (would it be better to say abused) since the begining. There is no need to expound upon the color, its depth and it inappriatness, so I will skip right to the solution.

To resolve this particular issue and all of its ramifications and make it correct for all site users, the programmers should institute a color scale system for each element of the VJ pages. Thus, one could tripple click (single and double clicks are already taken) on a color area and see a slider bar that, when adjusted, changes the shade of the color in question to something more pleasing to the user.

Once this is in place, a guide would be created explaing how to create the color shade desired. I had first thought there would need to be instrucitons and examples on how to set each shade. However, since each monitor has small differences, each lighting system is slightly different, and individuals might not interpret the color they are seeing the same as other individuals, I decided a guide would be better. Since the author of the guide cannot be expected to know and account for every variation, the guide could be adapted for multiple situations and updated when changes occur. Also, it would be easy for for others who have encountered differences specific to location or situation to provide information about those differences on the forum and add to the total knowledge available to users.

Maybe the color shade thing is overkill, but I really do like the guide idea. By the way, I did use a lawyer for the K1 process but we did the AOS papers on our own with help from the VJ guides. And, when ROC time comes around we will look here for more guides and examples. Of course, they are only guides so we will still have to figure out things like what to put in name blanks and so on ...
