Those of you using apps for free communication?

Hey guys,

Im a little bit worried. Me and my fiance use "Viber" to call each other everyday for those who dont know its a free application to make calls over the iPhone or smartphones. I regulary take screenshots of the call logs to use later at the interview for evidence. We skype a couple of times a week and i know how to pull those records using the app. We mostly communicate trough whatsapp messenger which a free text message service trough the iPhone. Because we dont text or use normal phone services i worry our communication evidence will not be strong enough. Anyone else in the same boat.

We have hundreds of emails dating back to early 2008 which we submitted with the 129f, but we dont email that often now as we text for free all the time. I will try to make contact with viber and whatsapp and see if there is any possibility of pulling records, but i doubt it. Anyone in the same position?

I would create my own spreadsheet with call dates and times rather than screen shots of everything.. that sounds really cumbersome. as everything you submit is supposed to be legitimate i don't see how your private documentation is vastly different than a phone company's.

i used rebtel when my hubs was abroad.

Spreadsheets are a good idea, but i thought that maybe they could see that and say its made up? It would take a hell of a long time to make those spreadsheets also.

i use whatsapp also!! its a great APP.. my honey bunny and i send text/pics/video/voice messages.. all day.. 1st year is free.. then its like $2..

its worth it!

I didn't include phone calls/skype/texts in my evidence. I sent pictures, copies of envelopes addressed to the both of us, boarding passes, and a few western union receipts before we got an RBC account to prove he was sending money to me for household purposes etc.

Looking back on it, I should have sent something along the lines of daily communication... Maybe that's why I haven't got our NOA2 yet!

My fiancee and I used Skype a lot to do voice calls. All that there is a record of is the call beginning and end time. Nonetheless, I pulled up the Skype log on my computer showing a list of all the calls and did a screen shot. It was basically just a list of dates and times. Keep in mind that the consular officer isn't going to sit there and read hundreds of pages of emails and texts like a novel. If you have hundreds of emails dating back as far as 2008, select maybe a total of 20 of the best ones between then and now and include those in addition to copies of your cell bill that may show texts back and forth to each other. This way, you cover a pretty good span of time and show that you communicate often. Many people use apps and things in which there is no way to track anything and they know this. The emails themselves would likely be enough so I wouldn't worry about the Viber conversations.

im currently using ovoo video chat and i'm taking screen shots and also we chat mostly on blackberry messenger

so i have download a mobile screen shot app by which i'm taking all the screen shots try oovoo it will show up both names and box ppl faces very clear

read the reviews for dublin embassy to see what others have used for evidence. i dont know how different dublin is to london but london dont ask for any proof of ongoing relationship. you can take screenshots with the iphone right??

Yea you can.. yea Dublin i think is very similar to London, but im just so nervous because i was refused an F visa 3 times at the beginning of the year at the embassy here. it makes you extra nervous already having a refusal.

Jess and I use MSN to chat and often webcam chat. We both agreed when we first started talking that we were not going to keep logs of the conversations as it felt to us a little like "Anything you say can and will be held against you". What we do is screen cap when we are talking so it shows the date and time in the bottom right of the screen (I do it with an online newspaper or FaceBook in the background for further proof of date). Then I paste it into MS Paint and save it as a .jpeg to print later.

We also send each other emails throughout the day so those can always be printed off later too

We used skype too and yahoo messenger plus facebook messaging. We submitted those evidences together with pictures, flight itineraries and passport stamps... Got our NOA 2 last oct 27 without RFE...
