Hey VJ Fam!

I am going to our wedding venue tonight to make our reservation :D:D Sooooo excited!! 395 days until our big day! (L):D So anyways when I make the reservation tonight I will be signing a commitment contract and I was wondering if you all thought that this contract would be a good piece of proof for the "on going relationship" proof, of course as well as all the other things; like phone logs and Skype records, MSN chat logs... etc. Also will conversations between his family members and I be good proof, I do realize they have nothing to do with him and I, but just the fact that I know his family and we have close relationships (mostly his brothers and I) I was thinking maybe they would also see this and see it as a legit relationship. So any advice is very much appreciated! :) Thanks VJ fam for always being so helpful!

Members don't usually agree on making advanced bookings and payments that are non refundable in case something happens during the process.

I am not worried about something happening, I am not saying it won't, but 1. the wedding is more than a year away and 2. even if something happens and he is not here then well no big deal we will not be out ANYTHING we could have every last detail of the wedding planned and if he is not here then they just let us choose a different date, so nothing is lost.

We booked ours in advance. Everyone differs on this matter with most saying it was a dumb thing to do, but we're two rational intelligent people and were able to factor things/likelihoods in. All in all having that date has helped us immensely have something to look forward to and be anchored on and I've not regretted it, its been worth its weight in gold. Now its at embassy level it's also evidently helping show commitment (to a lesser extent), but mostly helping with them seeing theres a fixed schedule for them to process this thing by. Perhaps its dependent on consulate, buts ours certinly do take it into account. I'd say though if you were going to book it you'd be doing it mostly for yourselves as they expect you to marry anyway so I'm not sure how it would work as 'further proof', but with the timing you are working with....why not if its important to you. Just be certain when you book it that it means so much to you that you won't come to regret booking it if anything goes wrong wth the visa process. i.e be prepared to lose the booking if you time runs over or you are refused. If making the booking is so important for you as a couple (not for the embassy) that you don't mind possibly incurring that expense, then noone has the right to say differently. Congrats by the way and good luck on your journey.
