Here is the deal. My wife was approved In July, left me in august.. And yes I have been waiting to see if things worked out... She hasnt talked to me since then. Now all of a sudden, she emails me and says she needs a passport photo of me immediately??? Why??? Were not together, and I told her i was getting marriage annulled.. I noticed she took my Birth Certificate to... I called the USCIS, and they just told me I didnt have to do anything.. When she has to apply at the end of two years, she will probably get permanent card.. Now, Im not being bitter, hurt maybe. At this point she can have here card!!! Just dont know why she needs me anymore for anything let alone a pic...

Ty.. But im wondering if she is still using my information for her gain... Im not mailing her a photo at all.. I know at one point she said she need Birth certificate to bring back to her country for passport reason... Which I find that hard to believe, but maybe.. Ive checked my credit report and nothing weird yet. She does have way to much info of mine, but a pic??? Do she really need it for getting passport changed to my last name???

there is no 'uscis activity' at this stage, where a passport photo of you is required.

Sorry.

Well, ICE hotline # is at the bottom of this and every page, in the fine print, but do note it's only a national helpdesk, nothing local for you .

OTOH, suggest one of the ID Theft prevention companies (LifeLock comes to mind) - buy a subscription, nowish.

There is no good reason for her to have your birth certificate. Only nefarious reasons.

If she wants to remove her conditions in 2 years she will need to prove marriage in good faith, if she wants to be divorced from you when she does it. I'm not sure how much proof she'd have to provide-it doesn't seem like she'd have much in so short a time.

Someone else could probably answer that part better. You can also contact one of the credit bureaus and see what they would advise you do. I'd do it ASAP.

When it comes to filing for RoC jointly, a signature from the U.S. citizen spouse is easy to add to the I-751 form.

Beats having to go home . . .

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

I would say from reading these posts that perhaps if you suspect she married you just for residency, that perhaps you ought to be writing an official letter with whoever would be dealing with RoC and letting them know the state of play as far as you see it. At least that way if they receive anything in from her with her case number and your signature it can be flagged for anti fraud treatment. Make it clear what her requests of you have been (as they might make more sense to them) and also that you have no intention of a) providing this information and b)ever signing anything on her behalf. And do it fast.

For credit protection, call each of the three agencies and have them put alert on your file. I think it can even be done online: https://www.experian.com/fraud/center.html

The number for ICE at the bottom of this page is 1-866-347-2423 and you can apparently email them with your immigration fraud concerns on Immigration.Reply@dhs.gov

I'd make sure you clarify though that at this time you have no proof it WAS immigration fraud and to be careful to protect yourself by being honest and saying you entered into the marriage in good faith. If you decide to go this route you must be prepared to share with them all you have explained here, particularly the timing of the marriage and then her leaving you etc etc, plus her unusual ID based requests.

IMO, she has a coach to help her. This request for a passport ID 'tells me' that she has a bad coach.

Myriad, I sent them an email. Now just waiting for a reply...

Darnell, BUt why would she need it.. I dont have proof she has forged anything, but she may have signed my name to something but dont know the reason for it..

Its just a bad situation all together,

this is the email:

I need a new passport type picture of you, image resolution must be 600 x 600 pixels scanned at a resolution at least 300 dots per inch, on a light-colored background, face the camera, in 24-bit color depth. The same like we took last time at wallgreens but bigger. I need you to take this pic, scan it and send it to this email, coz my another email got hacked, I cant use it anymore. It`s very important, I need it as fast as you can do it, tomorrow or after tomorrow.

Im just trying to cover my ####!! No telling whats she done already, but getting used for this is not acceptable...
