Hello,

My Husband is in London and recently had his interview which went smoothly :).. They said he would receive his passport within 5-7 days and still no news  They dont even care and give you no feedback on how long it may take. Has this happend to anyone else? His interview was so quick and they only asked him two questions and he was out of the embassy within an hour! I sent them an email which they responded say they are doing administrative checks?? can anyone help?

Call the visa specialist office(Department of State) 202-633-1225. When the recording comes on the phone, press 1 then 0. They should be able to see anything in your case when it is at the embassy. They can tell you if you are on administrative processing or administrative review. :)

Thank you...still no help!!! the embassy give little information and say they are doing administrative checks? why would they approve it and take so long....feel so sad

I know exactly how you feel. Your post however is making me scared. My husband is in England and he will be approaching interview soon. We don't have a date yet but our case is completed.

Have a little more patience. You are close to be done. So what did they say when you called? Did you call London Ambassy?

Its so frustrating!!! they cant give you any information and really dont care.. you cant actually speak to anyone who is dealing with your case. I have to be patient but its so hard!!

Hi, has anyone been through AP? Administrative process!!! What type of checks do they need to do? Why did they say my case was approved and then start with AP?

How did you find out that you were in AP? Did DOS tell you this? ......If it was DOS telling you that you are in AP, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is true.

Sent AOS pack......2011-08-08

I went for my interview on 10th October 2011 and answered two questions. The officer was happy and said your passport should arrive within 3-5 days and told me to pay DX... I waited and started to get worried why my passport hadn't arrived and called, called and called until the give me an email address with a a special code!!!! So i get a a reply ater 4 days saying

Thank you for your email correspondence.

Upon review of your application, the Immigrant Visa Unit determined that additional administrative processing is required, which is mandatory and cannot be waived or expedited.

We recognize that applicants and their family members can experience inconvenience if their application takes longer to process than they expected. However, it is difficult to offer any time frame for visa processing in such cases because processing varies in each individual case and there is no set period of time that it may take. Therefore, any times quoted are provided only as a guide and we are unable to guarantee processing by any set date.

Please be assured that as soon as additional administrative processing in your case is complete, you will be notified[/b][/font]

So am a little confused as everything was ok and the officer was happy!! I called the embassy again wanting to know what is the process because i wasent told it was declined and they didn't require any additional information!! You may have to call many times until you get through to a senior adviser which i did today!!!! I explained the situation to this lovely lady who took my case number to check.. She informed me that it says on the system that your visa is approved but they are missing information and its showing up that you did not turn up for the interview!!!!!!!! OMG! how can they have on the system its approved and show up i didn't attend and they have my passport..... So i now have to email them again

But at the same time what I don't get is how can you be approved if you didn't show up? Keep praying, I keep you in my prayers too. **hug**
