In 2000 my wife went through all the St. Lukes B.S. and had to take the spit test because of a 'cloudy' xray. She was ok'd then, no TB. In 2003, we moved back here and now are leaving for good. I have filed and passed the i-130, and everything was moving right along fine till the St. Lukes spit test! She has to take it again, once in a life is enough for anyone I would think! So my question is this: Is the culture, which takes 8 weeks absolutely necessary, or have some passed on just a negative for 3-day test alone?

I will Survive!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

You will have to wait for the eight-week culture.

I had really, really hoped this was the wrong answer, but after reading much and then in reality after my wife had her pulmonary exam. It's an automatic 8 week pause, as they culture your spit pearl!

Hope this helps someone, however, if they stamp your Noa2 "sputum" it's a delay.

My wife had a tourist visa, well they also confiscated her passport and gave it to the US Embassy.

It made me really angry as they didn't even return her passport, which means yet another trip to St. L's as I don't trust them to hold it till her culture is complete.

They will have kept her passport almost 2 weeks before we can get it back? Ahhh, the joys of all this....
