Hello, I need help to fill out the I864. My father will petion my husband. He receives social security and his pension. He does joint married taxes and my mother gets social security as well. How would they fill out this form? On the line(#23current individual annual income) where it asks for gross income do I put taxable(pension) and non taxable income(ss) combined? And if only my father is petitioning how do I go about that? Thanks inadvance and if you can guide me where I can see these samples or where I can get more help great...

You are confused, you are petitioning your husband and you will fill out a i864 as sponsor. your father can be a co sponsor or joint sponsor to help you if you don't make enough or don't work. Does he live with you? does he need your mother's income as well?

Let me say I filled ou the I864 for my husband and I am short $1300. I sent copies of my bank CD acct $29,000 but they sent an email saying they needed a cosponsor as I did not quailfy. I am not sure if because I did not send the letter from my bank stating how much and when this CD acct was opened. So my father will be cosponsor. He does not live with me and we do not need my moms income. But they file taxes joint. My questions do we put both incomes on line#23 from his social security(SSA-1099 14,694.) and his pension (1099-R 14,889.) because it is taxable and non taxable. How would I explain because his taxes only show 14,889.(taxable) and on the left side out of the column #20a. is the non taxable(14,694.) Hope you understand or maybe you can help guide where I can get help. Thanks
