Post 9/11 world means AP will never end. It's a sad part of the process for those innocent beneficiaries who are separated from their loved ones, but if 1 person's life is saved because AP caught someone who should NOT be here then it's worth it.

While your at it why not get rid of all security checks. Na it'll never happen and quite rightly so, I don't blame any country for checking deeper into it's immigrants. Wish the UK would try the same thing.

I don't want to try. Why would I want to make the US less secure? Why would I want to get rid of background checks for people from countries with big terrorist ties?

Nineteen foreigners made it pass US immigration and killed over 3,000 people on 9/11. Do I really want to take a chance of letting more in by getting rid of AP and the security checks? Why not give it a try and a chance? One American life. I will not take a try and chance if it means a terrorist will pass through to attack the US.

Unfortunately to catch one terrorist, we must put thousands through AP. Most people are good people, but it only takes a handful of bad people to bring about a lot of destruction. AP is necessary to screen out the bad people.

1. Stop shouting.

2. Pakistan harbored Bin Laden; all the while taking billions in "foreign aid". He lived a few hundred metres from a major military academy. How many other Al Queda are living there under the protection of Pakistani officials? You should be thankful that anybody from Pakistan is allowed to emigrate to the US at this point.

But I do know. I don't have to imagine. We were in AP at NVC on a K1 for nearly two months. I was in New Zealand and he was here. That isn't a high Fraud country.

There's no chance whatever that 5000 signatures will abolish AP. Nothing will.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

The respondents are 100% agreed that this petition idea is fruitless and futile. I see no further purpose for this thread; it should die or be closed.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Seriously OP - what do YOU think the reason for AP is? No one here is insuinating that you're a bad person and we all know how difficult the waiting can be, but the American people did not cause AP to be put into place. It was the actions of a few cowards who let their hate dictate their actions. It is truly unfortunate that the actions of a few affect the future of many and even though this process is of no fault of yours, it certainly is not the fault of the innocents who died 10 years ago...

Ok - off my soapbox now. Have a great day everyone!
