You should be. I have a feeling that Obama will lose in 2012 no matter who the GOP candidate is.

I have an exit strategy. Do you?

On a more serious note: I disagree with your assessment. Herman Cain will never be President. It would take a large swath of the 84% of people that will see their taxes go up significantly under the Cain proposal to vote against their interests. Now, that might happen on the far right fringe but that is not where general elections are decided.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

What are you saying? Herman Cain is a corrupt drug abusing felon? Or are saying all black people look alike?

Neither. They both wear hats.

Never say never, stranger things have happened. Americans vote against their interests all the time.

That said, Cain's tax proposal it's just that - a proposal. It has no more chance of passing Congress than Obama's "job plan" or any other things that other Presidents proposed in the past.

What's confusing about this is the fact that Herman Cain has no campaign infrastructure at all. Romney or Perry both have the money and organizational talent to go head to head with Obama. But not Cain.

Exactly.

You need a ground organization to win a Primary or Caucus. Without "get out the vote" volunteers to drive the busloads of seniors to the polling center, you don't win a Primary, like New Hampshire. And without volunteers to attend those small-town Caucuses in the public library or church basement, you can't win the Iowa Caucus.

Money is good - essential in fact. You need it for the ad campaigns, and for the campaign infrastructure.

But money without people isn't enough.

Leading in opinion polls, or even winning a straw poll, is a very different thing than having campaign organizations in all states. Or for that matter, in just the lead-off January states.

Cain has no retail presence. I wish he did, I really do. The longer the GOP stays disoriented and confused, the better. But the answer is inevitable. Barring a stunning upset, Romney should have it sewn up by Super Tuesday and it will be Romney vs. Obama next Nov.
