Businessman Herman Cain is now atop the field of Republican White House hopefuls, squeaking past former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.

Cain garnered 25 percent support of Republican primary voters in the poll released on Tuesday, compared to Romney's 21 percent.

This is good news. I should change my party affiliation from independent to GOP so I can give ole' Herman or whichever nut happens to run atop the GOP pile of clowns a boost in January down here in Florida. As long as the GOP disses Mitt, I am not all that worried.

Koch + FNC... is that really enough? Maybe in the post citizens united era it really is.

;)

On the other hand, strong support within the GOP base does not translate into broad public support which one needs in the general election. Personally, I do not understand how the GOP base can unite so strongly behind a candidate so unprepared. But then, they all flocked to support Sarah and The Donald so one should not really be surprised. They're all nuts.

I don't know about Sarah Palin but at least in Trump and Cain's cases they've both had successful business careers. That's no easy task. So in the process of being good businessmen they never learned to talk slick like a politician and they never bothered coming up with policy positions on ethanol subsidies... so what? Maybe this is the year they go with 'something different' - that's what they did in 2010 right?

The US ain't a corporation though it is goverened by corporations. A President needs to be able to formulate policy and represent the country in the world - even in places like Uzbeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan. And not with bullshite like "we're taking your oil". I mean, really.

Something different in 2010? Like what? It's the same crowd only they recruited more heavily from the far right evangelical wing. And the legislation they've pushed since then shows that quite impressively. As does the credit downgrade they willfully and needlessly forced upon the nation.
