Here goes,

After working so hard to get an approved petition and an interview date everything is falling apart. My fiance's visa appointment was supposed to be on Nov 1st. On October 13th he went to get a police record and was told to pick it up on the 21st. However, he decided that he would have picked it up today along with his medical. However on friday night he was arrested due to warrants from traffic tickets and back up child support payments. Also, they say suspicions of rape. Now he was arrested two months ago for traffic tickets and when he paid the ticket they held him on suspcioins of rape and then they let him go because they said he wasnt the person they were looking for. He's been in jail for three days and I've been calling back and forth and keep hearing different information. Now if he is a rapist there is no question as to whether or not it's over. But, he hasnt been charged as yet and they say he will have to do an id line up to see if he will be picked as the culprit. I'm not sure what to think of this or what to do visa interview wise. Does anyone have any idea how the justice system works in Jamaica? And i really feel like cancelling this petition. I just dont know what to think or feel in this situation.

How the justice system works../ There; not much to say.. a rapist line up is treated the same way as in the USA.

You feel like cancelling the petition.. hubby not paying tickets.. not paying child support... and possible child raper.. = your future hubby. Get to know him.

As for how the justice system works - not well. But, until he is actually convicted of a crime, then more than likely he will not have fingerprints taken or it be on his record - But also know that they can hold him "on suspicion" for endless periods without officially charging him - so do not take the sign of him sitting in jail as being guilty or arrested. If you want to talk more, feel free to PM me, and don't make any rash decisions.

I saw in the OP that the fiance was held on 'suspicion of rape' Where did you read 'child raper'?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

OPs post did not say anything at all about Child Rape and he hasn't been charged with anything as of yet.

OP: If he is not the rapist (I agree that this is a total deal breaker) and he is let go and that is removed from his PCC, then you will have to think about whether or not you would like to be in a relationship to someone who doesn't take his obligations seriously (ie. Child support, tickets, etc). That is for you to think about and discuss once the possible rape is taken off the table.

I don't envy you the position you are in and I sincerely hope all goes well for you.

Morning FB --

Wow you have a lot on your plate. I don't know much about you or your fiance other than what you typed here, but he has a lot going on. Is he telling you different things about the situation or did you get the information from someone else. The final decision is up to you...all some of us can do is advise you...by the sound of your post, I think you know what's up.

What's the problem..?

Here in Canada, Child Rape is perceived to be way worse than a normal Sexual Assault.

Why? Possibly because children are innocent beings who should not be touched sexually under any circumstances. I am sure the US is the same.

Calling him a Child rapist would just inflame the situation and make it worse when there was no basis that.

It's all good.

I beg your pardon? Good? Are you actually reading what others are posting, or are you just typing random comments.

To the OP...you have got a lot on your plate, and I can understand your impulse to cancel. All I can really advise is to do nothing in haste. Try and find out what the actual situation really is. Then you can make up your mind about what you will do.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Why are u picking up up comments intended for others..? pardon excused. I'm not trying random comments.. do you on any level understand ... that i was simply acknowledging what the other person wrote...? I dont think so because you're coming up with this again.. In my calmest voice I'm telling u to go on.
