I'm looking for any suggestions and/or experiences as I am looking for health insurance for my fiance who will be coming here in 2 weeks from Japan. She doesn't have a job lined up yet and for me to get coverage for her through my company is insanely expensive due to the plan they have. I've heard an option is to get travel insurance for the first 6 months or so from her country (Japan) and after that,if she hasn't got a job yet, to then get regular health insurance on our own. The insurance companies online are very confusing and it seems that i need to ask the correct questions when talking to them on the phone, but am not sure what to ask, as their definitions and loopholes on deductibles, co-pays, etc are very vague, making me not trust them. I've been looking at My link which falls into this category too, but they seem to have a lot of options and the reviews are decent.

Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I guess what I'm looking for are any suggestions for health insurance companies without or with minimal confusing BS, that is if there are any. Or any to really stay away from. Looking with something more straight forward without all the vagueness and loopholes. By the way for regional suggestions, I'm in Portland, Oregon
