Ok. I think we will take a call about it soon after I discuss this with my husband. Thank you for your help. I also had one more question for you. Do you think I will be able to travel to the US on my tourist visa if I am unable to get a December interview date? I have job interviews lined up. I have a valid tourist visa currently.

Your case was completed on 9/30, so you should be able to get a December date, so don't try to travel using the tourist visa, as it will come up during your interview and it may turn out to be couter-productive for your immigration visa. You can alway get new interviews after coming here - it is not a big deal and worth taking the risk.

CONGRATS! My hubbies been in the embassy 8 hours and hasnt gotten out yet.

Fell in love on a missions trip in 2005, got married in 07, got pregnant and started IR1 visa process in 08, had baby number 2 in 10, and its now 2011, and we are just now finally getting to the end of this long road. (The mail from the embassy never arrives to my home, causing us trouble. Fingers crossed and prayers going up! Both kids born and raised in Mexico and American citizens by CRBA:

His Appointement is October 25th!

Chennai Consulate didn't allow me in but wife could get in an hour early at 12 noon (interview at 1 PM). The first person checked all her documents, photos and asked her for my 1040 (we submitted I-864 using IRS Tax Transcripts). Since we were ready with copies of 2010, 2009 & 2008 tax returns, she gave those to him. He then browzed through the I-864 documents asked if she will be able to provide any co-sponsor as I was a student for 2 years prior to my current employment. We were ready for this too and she gave him my dad's I-864 and he than said that the case now very strong for favorable consideration.

So they asked your wife for the 1040 and insisted on seeing the 1040s, even if she presented Tax Return Transcripts received from IRS? Or was it probably a misunderstanding that they did not know she had the Tax Return Transcripts at hands? I would thought Tax Return Transcripts received from IRS are more credible.
