I recently called the NVC hotline and was told that my parent's case are both complete. Now, I don't know what to do. Do I have to wait for 8 weeks like what the recording said? I've read somewhere here that they can schedule for a medical at St. Luke's. Is that true? If so, how can I schedule my parents? I hope someone can help me...thanks!!

Hi! If you gave your email address, you'll receive the interview letter of your parent through email just wait for few days. I applied for my mom last March and when I got her NVC case number, I let her go to Saint Lukes for her advance medical exam(to save time if she'll have the sputum test which she had to). She had a little hard time going in at first because they want the interview letter but even with the NVC case number only,(i let her print the notice that NVC emailed to us w/ her case number)she was able to have her medical exam. Some here said your parent can show your NOA2 and your parent's NVC case number to the guard at St. Lukes and your parent can get her/his medical exam. Mom had her medical exam last August 26 and our case just got completed last Sept. 9.We received the interview letter through email at Sept. 13.She needed to come back last Sept 12 to have the sputum test. She just printed the interview letter and showed to them when she returned. I rescheduled her interview and we will be able to get the result of the sputum test in the next two weeks (yay!6 weeks just went by so fast). She'll then have her interview next month if the test turns out negative by God's will:)Hope your parent's medical exam turns out fine. Good luck and God bless;)

For medical, will they be getting their passports and keeping it till their interview? My dad might leave for work outside the Philippines and will be taking an emergency leave from work just for the interview. If he does an advance medical and they keep his passport, he might not be able to report to work

You will need to schedule and complete your medical examination and any required vaccinations before your visa interview. Before an immigrant visa can be issued, every applicant, regardless of age, must undergo a medical examination which must be performed by an authorized panel physician. Applicants are provided instructions by NVC regarding medical examinations including information on authorized panel physicians. See Medical Examination for more information, including a list of panel physicians by country, and frequently asked questions.

Hello, my case was complete at the NVC on 19 Oct 2011 just like you. I too am waiting to hear from NVC. My son (the petitioner) called NVC and they said I should receive an email in mid November with a date in December. Hope that is really true. I live in Abu Dhabi .. perhaps things are faster in Philippines.

To Tuckers_wife, yup, that's what i let my mom printed out that time. If you can scan the NOA2 too, scan it and have them print that too. And just tell them to be firm that they can have the medical exam w/o the interview letter. Some guards don't know that and only look for the interview letter. It is also stated at St. Lukes' website that as long as you have your case number and category preference, you can have your medical exam. Don't forget of course the medical fee:) Thank you for the wish and may God bless your parents:)

To-CK-

As of my mom's, they returned her passport. I don't know if they'll get it when she goes back there for the immunization but some here said that they returned theirs and they just brought their passports at the Manila US Embassy during their interview.

There is no scheduling for the medical exam at St. Lukes. You can go there after you got your interview letter or have the medical exam in advance as long as you have you case number and category preference:)

Not yet because she hasn't had her interview which will be next month. I think they can have the CFO seminar after their interview and when they have their passport with the visa in it. Some here said you can go and attend the seminar in advance w/o your visa but then you need to go back when your visa is at your hand because they'll put a sticker on your passport which will be checked at the airport before departure. So i think it's best to just wait for the passport with the visa and then have the CFO seminar:)

Let me know if they give back her passport. I want the medical be done...one less step to worry about.

When your parents had their medical at St. Luke's, since they are asked to bring their passport with them, did they get their passport back after their medical exam? I really need to know because my dad will be leaving the country for him to go work. He's planning on just coming back in time for the interview. I just want him to get his medical soon...thanks!!!
