Here in the Philippines sub-forum we don't mind people asking to find friends in their area.

We understand how difficult adjusting to life in a new country is and how important it is to find local friends who can understand what you're going through.

I understand. I am about 5 hours North. There is huge Pinoy community here. I have many Filippino friends here, many of whom have already reached out to my fiancee who will be here in a couple of weeks. A couple of my good friends started dating Filippina women and got engaged to them here. They are the ones that encouraged me to pursue my relationship with my soon to be wife, I guess it will help the adjustment to be surrounded by close friends from her home province.. One of my good friends was actually visiting Cebu and spent the day with her. They are close friends now.

Not to stereotype, but I have found that many members of the local community know each other, and attend big social events together..

hi welcome here in florida. I live maybe an hour and 30 mins. drive from you. There's an organization called Filipino-American Association in Treasure Coast and they have plenty of activities infact this January 2012 is the 2nd year celebrations of the Sinulog Festival.
