Homosexuality was not an issue in his time. The historical record indicates that Abe shared his bed often with men he was close to! Was he gay? Some people argue that he was.

But my point was that there is already a recognized organization for gay republicans. And there are all those vehemently anti-gay republican politicians who turn out to have their own problems with a 'wide stance' or whatever!

Its all very sad as millions of Americans will die in poverty and sickness in the next 20 years unless they can grab an education soon before they vote and forget the reality show stuff.

Very good. My Sergeant used to say don't knock it til you have tried it. He also used to say that men would be perfect if they had chubbies on their backs. His wife was a nurse who worked shifts and she was being rogered by the local catholic priest and I think it made him bitter. Thank you for the expression and mind picture 'reach around', I live 4 miles from the 'Rocky Reach Dam' on the Columbia. I will never be able to drive past it without smirking now.

I would never be acceptable in South Carolina or Oklahoma as I have actually been photographed in a gay bar in Munich and been introduced to a man by the name of 'Lulu'. I exited stage left but nevertheless I have been into the caves of Beelzebub and stared into the pit and the fires. The beer was good.

I then went back to the apartment of my gay pal and his blond bouffant buddy, where I had a free night's accommodation without being sullied while I slept - as far as I know.

They wouldn't be human if they didn't fancy me, but they knew better than anyone that conversions are not possible, and once the 'team' of the desired one is known, they gave up pretty quickly.

What all this has to do with abortions I am at a loss to explain, except to say the homosexuality and abortion are non issues to most people nowadays, as is the idea of witch burning.

Scientists are close to finding the republican gene. The gene that makes people self-centered and immune to the suffering of others. Cold, selfish, and pugnacious, grasping, and insular and racist.

Imagine the implications for abortion when that gene is finally identified ! All republicans could be aborted ! It will make the gerrymandering of voters constituency boundaries look tame.

I did this and asked my wife, sister, mother and a few co-workers and they all said it wasn't right to abort them. But they are all for it, in other circumstances. Then for shits and giggles go ask a die hard Christian fundamentalist who vehemently opposes abortion, if they would consider aborting their child if they would be born gay. The ones I asked would support abortion in this instance.

So there you have why abortion and gay rights should be eliminated as a political issue. It's a private matter that gov't shouldn't be involved in.

I would abort all 'religious marker' embryos first - that would solve a whole lot of problems and probably deal with the republican problem as a twofer. Imagine all the people, living life in peace - a sentiment sung by a guy who was born 70 miles from me.

Penalizing homosexuality is penalizing one form of sexual behavior. The Saudis quite rightly make no distinction between adultery and homosexuality, but they make a mistake in penalizing both

If, in the USA, both homosexuality and adultery were grouped together as immoral behavior, suitable for sanction, the politicians would have to get quickly get zipped or go over to personal libertarianism

I think the present law in the UK and the US is about right as it seeks to allow abortions where the health of the mother or infant are threatened, but seeks to dissuade people using it as a form of birth control. The problem in the USA are those States which seek to obstruct the settled constitutional position - and they should be sued for damages. The idea of course is the attempt to impose a theocracy or the christian form of sharia law.

Religious people scare me more than cougars or bears or rattlesnakes and we have plenty of those round here. Why don't they stay in the churches and do what they want to do and not come out into the public arena making everyone kneel and comply to their weirdness. That is an awesome question to ask and I'll be sure to bring it up next time. I remember getting deep into it with a Bible thumper a few months back and he was talking about "the gays" and I asked what Jesus would do. He said it was their duty to turn away from their sinnin ways. I asked why God made them like that. He said God makes all of us sinners.
