Hi all

My wife and I are filed a I751 to remove the condition on my wife's residency and the USCIS requested for more documentation. We're planning to send bank statement and credit card statements.

They asked for statements covering multiple years. I was wondering if we need to send every statement we have received over the past 3 years or is it OK to send select a few statements per year, such as 4 statements of each or do you suggest sending in all months regardless. I'm mainly concerned about the volume of documents that I need to send in which could easily fill a box. I'm also fearful of compromising the security of my banking and credit information that I'm sending. I don't know what they do with that much paper if I send everything.

So far we have the following documentation prepared.

-Employer life insurance beneficiary designation

-Proof of medical insurance coverage for my wife under my coverage

-Auto insurance form showing she is covered under my auto policy

-bank statements of joint accounts (which I have this question of quantity)

-credit card statements (question of quantity)

-photos together

-itineraries of trips taken together.

I tried to call the USCIS center and they would not answer my question of how many statements I need to produce for our accounts as evidence. They simply read off a script and would not deviate from it and leaves it very vague. I guess I could send in a box but I thought I'd try saving some trees before I have to do that.

Would appreciate any advice on the quantity of documents I need to send. We are planning to do it this week since we are leaving on a previously planned vacation and the deadline the USCIS gave makes it very difficult.

Thanks!

Hello dondimonte,

I've read that evidence of a couple's financial intermingling is key and that multiple years of "married filing jointly" tax forms and a joint mortgage/lease for a primary residence can be essential to succeeding in this process

Not only did we submit those documents, the ones you mentioned, and many others (joint house insurance and joint car title), we also sent joint checking, savings, and credit card statements (one each from just after our arrival in the US and one each from September of this year).

Our supporting documents ran to about 80 pages. I wouldn't worry about the privacy of your documents. They already have everyone's social security numbers and will be required to shred everything upon completion.

I hesitate to add that our ROC has not yet been approved...

Good luck to you in your efforts!

Many people send one from each quarter. That is what I have sent for ROC.
I did the same. My master cover-page said that, behind it, there would be a mini-cover page for each quarter that we were married. I entitled each "1st Quarter 2009," "2nd Quarter 2009," etc., and listed 2 to 5 enclosures that followed each such page. These included everything from the mandatory bank statements and tax returns/correspondence to things like renewal appeals from our electricity provider and donation or pick-up receipts from the Salvation Army.

I highlighted, circled, or drew arrows toward information that deserved to be pointed out.

It was actually quite fun to compile the eclectic set of documents, and the organization here on the front end probably saved the adjudicator a lot of paper-shuffling. We were approved without an interview. Try it.

Hardly anyone gets interviewed for removal of conditions.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.
