Hello to all VJ's. Please, I don't want anyone to take what I am about to say the wrong way. I have to vent right now if that is ok. I see so many K-1 interviews scheduled already for December and now into January. What about us CR1's? I just feel like the K1's are taking up the slots. Lagos apparently only have so many slots per month. They have a shorter journey in the beginning and don't have to do all that CR1's do through NVC. Please, again, don't get me wrong, I am happy for all to successfully complete their journey. It is an emotional strain on all of us. NVC says they only schedule interviews the 2nd week of the month, but apparently, due to a different process, K1's are scheduled all month long. Also, CR1's are already married and want to be together with their spouse. Who knows, perhaps when fiance's come to US, they may not even get married. I look at a K1 as a tourist visa with the ability to legally get married and Adjust Status.

Again, I am just venting. This has been a long, expensive, stressful journey.

Each embassy has its own allotted slots for CR-1 interviews and K-1 interviews, so K-1 applicants can't take a cr-1 slot and vice-versa. And also the NVC operators are just reading a script when they tell you they only schedule on the 2nd week of each month. The NVC schedules interviews all month long for both spousal and fiance visas. My CR-1 interview was scheduled in the 4th week of september. just look at other people's timelines and you will see that a lot of people have their interviews scheduled in other than the 2nd week.

Well that is a little reassuring. When I look at time lines though, it seems there are more k1's than cr1's. Maybe it is just bcuz i am getting a little impatient.

If u had filed for K 1,im sure you'll be making same comments abt CR1.. So,you cant call K1 a tourist visa.. It is ur decision for chosen what you think is good for u.. Just pray and ask God for mercy in everythin u do in life..

You are correct. I knew I wanted to marry my husband and I did it in Nigeria so that his family could attend. I know that it is not east for Nigerians to get tourist visa to US, so to be sure his family could be with us, we married there. When he comes here, we will have another ceremony with my family. But still seems like more k-1 interviews get scheduled than cr-1. Pls dont take me the wrong way, as I stated earlier, I am happy for all visa journey successes. Love is a beautiful thing no matter what part of the world we find it in. I do pray to God for strength and patience throughout this whole journey. My husband and I obviously don't live together, but I have at least been blessed enough to have been able to visit him 3 times in the last year. Good luck on your interview.

wao you are really angry over something !!!! why dont you call uscis and vent your anger. its very unfortunate that you decided that this forum is the best place to make this type of remark.

if the k1's decided not to get married at the end, it aint your business. i pray that God will forgive you and speed up your interview process but you need repentance.
