I'm confused do I file the I-129F or not?

We filed our I-130 in June (Still haven't heard anything after the RFE acceptance in July ) I've been reading up on the K-3 route after filing for the IR-1/CR-1 Spousal Visa.

From what I understand. K-3's get turned in to CR-1's anyway, and it really doesn't speed things up too much. So I send in the paperwork?

IF I do file for the K-3, my husband lives in Calgary, which is west of Manitoba, so would filing for the K-3 and going to Vancouver help get him here faster?

I'm so sick of the limbo. We want to make plans, but can't, we have no idea how long this is all going to take! Erg the waiting is killing me!

There is really no reason to file I-129F, as K3 will get administratively closed and it will continue as CR-1 process. So just hang in there. This is not a fast process and CR-1 can take 10-12 month to finish. You haven't filed that long ago, so there is not much of the plans you can make right now.

That's not correct, a K3 petition does not get turned into a CR-1 petition, an I-129F that was filed for a K3 is administratively closed if the NVC already has an approved I-130 on station when they receive the I-129F for K3.

A K visa interview can take place in Vancouver. However, since the K3 path often ends in administrative closure, chances are good that your husband will not have the opportunity to have a K3 interview in Vancouver.

I did meant administratively closed, sorry for my not using the correct wording. But since K-3 is almost doesn't exist do you still think the OP should file I-129F for K-3?

I mailed off the I-129f yesterday anyway. It's free to file, what can it hurt? If he manages to get here 3 days faster because the K-3 when through in Vancouver than yay!

I'm just so stressed out with life in general and not having him here makes it worse. I keep checking the USCIS site for changes in our case, but nothing has been done since August. I hope we will hear something soon!

The next action is your I-130 petition will be pulled from its current place in the queue and placed with the I-129F you will have just submitted.
