This is all good advice. The original poster should have his guard up because there are many women out there that are not genuine and have an ulterior motive but over the six month process, you should see those signs.

As far as a younger filipina marrying PARTIALLY for money (security), well you will find more of that in America than you will in the Philippines. Seriously... just try to be a guy in America and telling a woman you work as a mechanic and trying to get a date. LOL. you won't see a first date. These are the first questions she will find out from you before you go on a date. What do you do for a living ? American women want to know if you have earning potential and can support a family. This is no different anywhere else in the world. The most important facts you can find out about the woman is "who they are" and "how they were raised".

If there is any woman on this forum that married and supports their husband, I would like to hear from them. If there is, could you say they married only for good sex??? Everybody wants something out of a relationship but sometimes people care mostly about love and family. Let's not judge all but it is the case of buyer beware.

i was at store yesterday and a 23 yr old started to flirt with me...

i told her.. "Darling, i am 40 years old.. if i was 50, we would totally hook up"..

when my fiance visited me, i introduced him to my girlfriends and we dated in starbucks near MOA, then he went to the bathroom while me and the girls order in the counter. while waiting in line in the bathroom a girl infront of my fiance keep on staring at him and smiling, flirting on him. my fiance told me bout it and we just laugh.

communication is the key to a great relationship. if you can open up to your partner anything under the sun, its a sign for a long years together. :)

Catherine will be entitled with $2.8 million for every year she's married to Michael Douglas. If she's able to prove he cheated on her, she's entitled to a one-time $5 million.

I don't know if my fiance has millions but I want to get his Ford Car, his 2 door fridge and the 2 black comforters we bought in SM Mall

why not also take his :secret::lol:

Woody Allen on marriage to Soon-Yi: 'What was the scandal?'

Get more: Woody Allen, Celeb Lives

06/23/2011 by Kristina Lopez

Director Woody Allen made headlines in 1992 when, at the age of 56, it was revealed that he was in a relationship with 21-year-old Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, his girlfriend of over 10 years and the leading lady in 13 of his films.

Farrow discovered the relationship when she found nude photos of Previn taken in Allen's Manhattan duplex, according to a 1992 People magazine article. The revelation sent Allen's name in the headlines and played out in court in a custody battle over Farrow and Allen's biological son Satchel.

Farrow adopted Soon-Yi at age 8 with then husband Andre Previn in 1978. The couple divorced in 1979 and Farrow began dating Allen in 1980.

However, when asked in a new interview with Reuters to promote "Midnight in Paris" about the scandal, Allen, 75, replied, "What was the scandal? I fell in love with this girl, married her. We have been married for almost 15 years now."

He added, "There was no scandal, but people refer to it all the time as a scandal and I kind of like that in way because when I go I would like to say I had one real juicy scandal in my life."

Allen and Previn wed in December 1997 in Venice, Italy and have two adopted daughters. Back in 1992, Soon-Yi Previn told Time magazine she never considered Allen a father figure in her life.

"To think that Woody was in any way a father or stepfather to me is laughable. My parents are Andre Previn and Mia, but obviously they're not even my real parents," Previn said at the time. "I came to America when I was seven. I was never remotely close to Woody. He was someone who was devoted exclusively to his own children and to his work, and we never spent a moment together."

Previn also said the two began seeing each other around the time she was 20-years-old. She told Time magazine "By that time his relationship with Mia was long done, and they were going through the motions." She added, "They were friendly but rarely went out, and apart from when they worked together or played with their children, had little to do with one another."

Allen's biological son with Farrow, Ronan Farrow (birth name Satchel) -- who is now a 23-year-old journalist/government official --said of the relationship according to Life magazine, "He's my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression."

"I cannot see him. I cannot have a relationship with my father and be morally consistent," he added, "I lived with all these adopted children, so they are my family. To say Soon-Yi was not my sister is an insult to all adopted children."

The 35-year age difference raised eyebrows back in the 1990s much like the recent wedding of 51-year-old "LOST" actor Doug Anthony Hutchinson to 16-year-old singer Courtney Alexis Stodden.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial. But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless," that couple said in a statement.

When asked by Reuters if he was "too much for the Middle American mentality," Allen said: "Yes, we are a very religious country, but to me that is their problem. I don't subscribe to it. I am not religious or prudish. In that way I am slightly more European, but you will find that a certain amount of that more in New York, I think, rather than the rest of the country."

I have reading many stories here on VJ especially from PI that age difference is not a big deal. Some of them have been approved for visa. One of that I can remember is Darren-Gretchen and they have 35 years age gap. He had popular thread before. I only can guess -because I'm not an anthropologist- it's depend to the country that culture or custom would apply before embassy.issued the visa.

Everyone remembers Darren...

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

Not that it's common, IT IS NOT AN ISSUE specially if the man can provide. In my family, they don't ask if your soon to be husband is handsome or you are compatibly good looking together. The priority is you got a responsible loving husband and able to feed a family. He doesn't have to be Donald Trump. That's highly unlikely. A man that has stability and good job is enough.

This is Philippines, Eagles song "when were hungry love will keep us alive" doesn't fly with me. Over my dead body. I'd rather stay single.

The age difference was actually 25 years (19 and 44 ). The age range is not a big of deal as the age of the younger of the two people. Someone that is 18/19/20 is too young to be making that kind of decision. I don't advocate changing policies to stop it or anything that drastic - we set the age of adulthood at 18 and at some point you have to let people make their own decisions. Hopefully the older person is mature enough to see the pitfalls, increased risks and the possible damage they can do to a young person just stating out in life..

I think Darren was scarred away from all the needless dog-piling at the end... Too bad! I would like to have seen how their story unfolded.

Indeed. That was my point on previous comment on this thread. No matter what, communication has very strong ties to make relationships lasted longer. My fiance told me everything either I am. Talk better than argue. Discuss better than fight. Feel loved better than keep hated.
