Hey guys,

We finally got our MNL Case number last week after calling NVC multiple times. Now I'm sort of confused where to go from here on...

Do we wait for the appointment letter from the Manila Embassy (We only received our NOA1 and NOA2 paper form in the mail as of now) or can we...

1. Go ahead and pay our visa fee at BPI in a few days... then I assume after I pay and wait at least a day for the payment to enter their database... I then can go online or call to setup an visa interview?

2. St. Luke's Medical... Can we go ahead and do our medical after we pay our visa fee? Or do we wait for the appointment letter from the Manila Embassy? I'm getting conflicting advice... I've read some saying that we need our appointment letter and others saying we only need to bring our passport and a copy of our NOA2. Which is correct?

I'm kind of in a rush to get our visa interview, because I plan to be there along side my fiancee during her visa interview... and need to set up our interview ASAP so I can purchase my plane ticket in advance and make arrangements.

you can do your medical even you don't have a letter from embassy and then pay for your visa.. but if you want to pay for your visa first before going to have your medical, be sure that your case is already at USEM manila so that you can schedule easily for your interview... God bless :)

> Don't wait for the eligibility letter from the U.S. Embassy.

> When your case arrives at the Embassy, pay the visa fee at BPI and make an interview appointment the next day.

> Complete the medical using the NOA2 approval from the USCIS and the MNL case number from the NVC For the medical, you don't necessarily need the letter from the NVC with the MNL case number on it...just use the MNL case number. If you have the interview appointment confirmation sheet, that will work too.

> Pass the interview.

> Complete the CFO seminar and get their sticker in the passport. She won't be going anywhere without that sticker.

> Throw a big farewell party.

> Don't be late for the flight.

> Take some extra cash to NAIA so you can pay the terminal fee and also pay for your overweight baggage fee.

Thanks Tahoma. I just want to thank you for the advice and support you have given me the first time I went on visajourney till now. You were one of the most helpful and supportive people on here when I first got on here. I really do appreciate it. Just wanted to let you know you are an asset to this site as well as countless others.

Hey ghienhie18,

Is there a number to call the US Embassy in Manila where I can find out if my case has already arrived in Manila and in their database? Or do I simply just call NVC?

Also, thanks for the info as well :)

I second all that Tahoma has stated...

This is what we did a little over 2 months ago and is solely based on our experience.

Your fiance should already be gathering her Birth Certificate, NBI Clearance, CENOMAR, Police Clearance if she worked overseas for more than 6 months from the country where she worked, Annulment (if applicable). You as the petitioner should prepare I-134, employee letter, pay stubs, and tax transcripts for 3 years (you can order tax transcripts from IRS website for free), evidence of ongoing bonafide relationship, money remittance, and anything else that proves a genuine relationship, and then send it all to your fiance as she will need these things for the interview @ USEM. In your case, you can just hand carry it with you since you plan on being there. This is what i did.

You can pay the visa fee through BPI. Be sure to have your passport when paying for the visa fee and keep the receipt. Wait til the next day and schedule your interview online. You do not have to wait for the eligibility letter from the USEM. Otherwise, you will be waiting for awhile. When you are scheduling online, you'll need manila case #, passport info, and the receipt # from BPI. Give enough time in between interview date and when she plans on getting her medical done when scheduling. There is no need to schedule an appointment for medical since it is walk in. You can register through the SLMEC and fill up the registration online and this will save you an hour and a half. if you don't fill it up, they will make you fill it up on the spot @ the clinic.

A CFO sticker is needed to be affixed to your fiance's passport. If you do not have this, they will not let her board the plane. This can be done in advance and once you have the visa in hand, you can go back to the CFO office in Quirino Avenue and obtain it. Or, you can wait until visa in hand and then attend the CFO seminar and get the certificate the same day.

just follow tahoma's advice & you'll be fine :)

just a few more days then call the USEM . ask if they already have ur case/file. if yes, u can pay for the visa then schedule an interview. (the medical should be done before the interview so keep this in mind when u pick a date for the interview)

or u can oay then try scheduling online coz calling the USEM embassy is kinda pricey especially if ur like me who tried callign few timnes everyday.

if it goes through that means the USEM got ur file already coz if not u wont be able to schedule no matter how many times u try. this is what i did. cheaper plus i can try to schedule online as many times as i want

good luck!
