Hello all,

I am the petitioner of F2A petition for my husband. PD is 01 Nov 2010. We came to know through AVR system that the case is complete at NVC in June 2011, but we never received any email or snail mail regarding this. I have received emails about everything else so far, like IV FEE, AOS, etc. Is it normal for them not to communicate the case complete status to either the petitioner/beneficiary? I am asking because I don't want to miss any more communications from them. Should we be contacting them regarding this?

Thanks everyone.

No.. You will not receive ANY communication that the case is complete. You are now awaiting the NVC's action which is to email/mail the appointment letter and medical information. That is about 6+ months away for you.

suggest you call into NVC on Monday, inquire for case status from a human.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Darnell.. there is no case status.. the case was completed in June 2011.. The current priority/cut off date is in February 2009 and so nothing will happen for this case anytime soon.. I'm sure you know this...

Ricardo - here's my confusion -

After an I-130 is approved, if there's some priority date cause there's NOT A USCitizen as the petitioner,

then

the casefile goes to storage until the PD is current,

and then the casefile goes to NVC for the regular NVC processing.

What yer suggesting, I think, is that NVC processing occurs THEN the casefile goes to storage.

That's not my understanding of how it works, at all.

Yes.. the case will sit in storage because the priority date has to be current. The NVC will not issue notice to interview until after the case has reached it's cut off dates. Seems the case was processed because back then cut off dates were very near to the poster's priority date.

ah - then maybe she got in the middle of the retrogression.

OP - I still say contact the NVC, to get some understanding of EXACTLY where the casefile is. ie - in storage waiting on PD to be current, or already at the US Embassy IV unit.

Case file will not be sent to the US consulate office until interview date scheduled. So it stays with NVC like my case file.
