I asked this question in another poster's thread, so, I thought I might make it it's own thread in hopes that those from Scotland might see it and guide me!

Where does the police certificate from? We have ours from ACPO - but somebody mentioned that those coming from Scotland might need a different one. Is this true?

When I searched the internet for an answer, another immigration site had people saying that they were turned away for having the ACPOS certificate (covering Scotland only) and needed a ACPO certificate, which did, indeed, include Scotland. I'm just a bit confused...and it's only 2 weeks from our interview - so feeling a bit anxious that we need to get something else in a short period of time.

Any help is appreciated :)

Does anybody who has been to the embassy and was approved for a K1 visa know the right answer?

From what i read from your thread, is those that had ones that only covered scotland were turned away i assume this is because they want one from the whole of the uk not just one country this is just my take on how you worded it

Ok I applied for mine from ACPO I was born and raised in Scotland. lived in England for 16 years before I moved to US and I called the number on ACPO and i asked the question if I lived in Scotland do I need a seperate ACPO report, The answer NO ACPO cover the WHOLE of the UK be it England Scotland or Wales so please do not fret over this, one report is sufficient as there database is linked in the UK, Advise given to me directly from ACPO. Good Luck, Keep the Faith :-)))) xxx

My fiance was born and raised in Scotland but lived in England for a while and emigrated from there. When she filled out the form for the police certificate a question asked if she ever lived in Scotland, she said yes, and that was all that was done. It came back saying NO TRACE and all was well.

I got a police report from Lothian and Borders police. It cost £10. I then discovered they only accept the ACPO one. I sent both the reports. Giving them more than they need can't hurt.
