the mother dies.. AND dad is on 3rd wife.. it is hard for kids to accept this.. as far as they are concern.. dad could be on wife 4 in the future.. *from kids prospective.. i dealt with this also.. father divorce mom, marries younger women, then divorce her and now been with women for like 15 yrs.. but no marriage*.. i don't have them.. but i am no rude to them.. *

just keep your distance and bite your tongue.. the kids will either accept you or not..

Hi,

We r on the same boat,I married my husband with two kids,boy is 15 and girl is 17,when I and their dad dating they are fine,when we get married they started to ignore me,and suddenly my husband ex wife called saying that their kids aren't ready for new mom,but take note before wr get married he talked to his kis,and I talked to his kids too,I told him that I am not going to take away thiet dad fr them and that I promise to takw good care of him,and so on,the girl replied that it will take time to get used to it.

Time passed by by weeks,months after married,but seems like they're avoiding me, but they don't tell me bad words,I texted them to invite for bbq,shopping,I showed them the kindness,love and respect,I wash her car,clean their clothes,cook food and even they don't show affection at all.I am hoping that by my kindness they will love and accept me,,,,plus I gave them some money when their dad is not here,so I sdvice you to just be kind to them...thanks for reading my post hope they wil be fine knowing that they r a lot older than my husband kids

I am sory to say, but it seems to me if children of that age are still worried about what he is doing it may well be greed, they should be worried about there own lives, not yours. Sorry to say in this country money is a big motivator, they seem like vultures circling...

I agree with the above poster unfortunately they may be looking at what will happen to their inheritance rather than their Dad's happiness.

There is no easy solution to the situation in my view but I would suggest that you concentrate on making a good life with your husband and maybe they will come around. If they don't, then at least you will have a good and happy marriage that will be your place of comfort.

If the daughter is 40 years plus. I would calmly and nicely bring it up to your husband that his daughter is really hurting your feelings and you don't understand why she does not want the two of you to be happy. That at HER AGE.. she should be more concerned about her OWN life and Family and NOT her fathers. Also when you are around his family I would try and be very polite and happy and win the others over. Then when things are going well and the daughter is there. I would just bring it up in front of her.. Why is she trying to cause problems in your and her fathers marriage? Why can't she be happy for you both or atleast just stay out of it and worry about her own life and marriage. American's over all do not like other people in our business and other family members who over step and sounds like that is what she is doing. This is why she is doing it by text and behind your back. She was to poison your rep in secret. I think by bringing it out in public. It will make her more embarrassed and turn the tables on her.

I think you see a big change and other would agree with you that she should mind her own business at her AGE. Is she was a minor it is one thing.. but sounds like the only thing she cares about is getting her fathers money when he dies and she wants to get rid of you.

I need some advice to all VJ members here..arrived here in united states a few weeks ago seems everything was fine i liked the people they are very friendly,in short i dont have any problem with the people and culture here,but there,s a problem my husband daughter well she said she cant accept me as a wife of their dad she didnt say it infront of my face just from text msg,husband ex wife never been accepted by them the ex wife of my hubby is a profesional she was a nurse,an american,not too far in my husband,s age but they treated her the same.is the right thing for us to move out here and look for a far place to live,they bothered us with phone calls accusing me different things like i am just a scammer,talking against about me to the relatives of my husband or to her friends...what im going to do.?in my mind if she will come to the house to yell or insult me i will call the police is this right?i am getting pissed with her...i want to smack her face if she will come to the house....i dont care if she is my husband,s daughter...pls need advice guys.....

Ignore them!!! Go on with your life as if they do not exist... if they call... say this... "sorry the number you dial is not in service anymore", then hung up. You are lucky that they are not living with you... My husband's younger son family (son with wife and two kids) lives with us... rather they are renting, they all have all access to the house (except our room), this arrangement was already in effect years before i got here... my husband asked me before if its okay, or should he ask them to moved out... I said its okay...

I have no problem with the son and the son's kids, but the wife always say something about the dead ex-wife (her dead mother-in-law) in front of me which makes me uncomfortable... and God knows what they think about me since I usually stay inside our room and do not socialize with them...

but the point is... I don't give the hell what they are thinking of me... when I come here in the US i am in the point of my life wherein i know who i am and what I can do... I do not need to prove that to any person since I have proven that to myself...

Back to your problem, chances are... the people who your hubby's daughter talk to already knows what she is... a mean ###### who can't grow up! so does that matter??? its a big NO!!! so move on with your life... and refuse to be bothered.

If the text message was to your husband - I would ignore it for a bit, as the daughter is assuming some personal communication link to her father. That type of personal communication, and the assumption that the communication is PRIVATE, can really trip you up on some emotional level.

Since the daughter is middle-aged, it'd be really nice if the two of you can resolve this as adults, regardless of how the message got to you.

Someone mentioned 'kill her with kindness' - I'm also a fan of gifting exlax-imbued brownies.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

thanks harvey and theresa..you are right most of the time i just ignored her i and hubby both knew what we been through they dont have any ideas of the struggles we been together for 5 yrs...

Ignore them!!! Go on with your life as if they do not exist... if they call... say this... "sorry the number you dial is not in service anymore", then hung up. You are lucky that they are not living with you... My husband's younger son family (son with wife and two kids) lives with us... rather they are renting, they all have all access to the house (except our room), this arrangement was already in effect years before i got here... my husband asked me before if its okay, or should he ask them to moved out... thank you Paula this conflicts started about the money,hubby,s son borrowed money and ended up arguing each other and i was out of the picture when they borrowed the money because i was not even aware about it...then i found it out they had misunderstanding because husband wants to get back the money they promised to pay back after in few months,then after that i was in the picture of their dramas,itss all about money..

my husband ex was 57 yrs old same they dont liked her i am younger i am 37 yrs old and hubby is 64...this might be the reason also because of our age gaps with my hubby...

the daughters are 45 & 47..

hubby is 64 ..

2nd wife is 57..

and 3rd wife (you) is 37..

yep, this is like an episode of Jerry Springer.. which means.. there is a lot of drama..
