Why do you hate climate scientists?

Don't hate them. Don't hate anybody. Hating people is defeating ones soul.

Nice that you don't hate anyone. I suppose calling someone an 'inept idiotic imbecile' doesn't qualify as 'hating' them, huh?

We should ignore that Obama the Socialist has had RECORD DEFICITS every year. Record deficits mean he has spent more than any other before him. This inept idiotic imbecile should get the kudos huh?whistling.gif

All Hail the Chief Ignorer of the Law (Especially Illegal Immigrants)

by Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX)

10/21/2011

The President of the United States, chief enforcer of the law, has decided not to enforce, but instead to ignore our nation’s immigration laws. Current federal law requires that people who come to the United States illegally be deported. As most of us learned in the seventh grade, the Constitution mandates that the President executes the law of the land.

As most of us also learned in the seventh grade, the President executes the law of the land through the various departments of the Executive branch of government. He has a cabinet populated with Secretaries who in turn have staffs and bdugets for the execution of the law of the land. And that execution often requires discretion and judgement and prioritization. Not all laws are actively enforced, prosecutors exercise prosecutorial discretion.

For example, our Internal Revenue Code lays down the law in regards to US income taxation. The IRS is the branch of the Treasury Department tasked with enforcing it. We know there are scofflaws who routinely violate the IRC. Some are charged and made to pay fines or even see jail time. Most get away with it. The IRS has internal rules to determine who they audit and who they prosecute. Rules based on discretion, degree of lawbreaking involved, amount of revenue that can be realized, etc.

Is the IRS wrong to do this prioritization? Do they have any other choice, realistically? DO you blame the President for this state of affairs and consider this to be failing to uphold the Constitution? If not, why the difference between IRS enforcement of tax law and immigration enforcement?

The IRS is just an example, by the way. Other federal departments exercise similar discretion. The FBI, within the Justice Department, does not pursue every possible federal crime. The EPA does not pursue every possible violation of environmental laws. Etc. etc.

But go ahead, pick on Immigration specifically and choose to lay that one federal activity personally at the President's doorstep as a Constitutional breach.

It is best to deport the most dangerous first and foremost. What has many wondering what is going on is that deportation proceedings have been stopped for many already in the system. The resources were already used on these and were just in the system to have their cases heard and now over a year ago the Feds have stopped them and dropped all proceedings.

I don't know this for sure but it sounds like the bottleneck is at the deportation hearing or whatever they call it.

Perhaps it's a bit like a local court system throwing out all of the cases that are minor for the dangerous ones (I knew a few ppl who were charged with trespassing for visiting a local waterfall, the case was dropped simply because the court was slammed and there were larger cases to handle)
