Your first source of knowing you've been approved

Hello All.....How are you!? its FRIDAY!! Yay....

Hope all the love in spite of the distance have hearts growing fonder and strengthen couples on VJ! ... I know there are a lot of people that are anxious out there like myself, and want this process to be over with or even just to know that you've been approved. But as a previous thread's topic stated maybe the time is a blessing in disguise....hey. anywhoooo

I just wanted to know from experience of those who've been approved which means communication was first for you that you were obviously approved for your visa? Text? Email? Online checker, calling...or perhaps postal mail?

I've personally been a fish out of water, checking everything and getting jumpy...and am disappointed thus far. just want to ease my anxiety a bit lol

I got a text message...called China and asked her to check the USCIS website (I was on the road) and she confirmed the status had been changed. Got a hard copy a week or so later.

The checking part is hard to avoid.

I was living abroad when we filed, so I didn't have the luxury of text/email notifications... I found actually by calling DOS just to check on how things were going. That surely made my Friday afternoon :-)

My fiance got a text just when we were having a fight bcause i wanted to met RIGHTAWAY! n he said better wait bcause in any moment we could get our approval n I was like NOOO u dont want to see me!!! this will take so loooong! jeje

I signed up on the USCIS site to get notifications through email. My fiance signed up for both email and texting. We got these notifications first, followed by an official letter from USCIS, which was sent to my Fiancees address in the states. You can also check on the "My Case Status" section of the USCIS site, it will ask you to enter you receipt number which is noted on you NOA1 Notification letter.

I applied on sent my I-129F application on July 20, 2011 and still waiting on my NOA2. I try to check online but I get case not found error. I called up USCIS toll free number and they say that my application has been received and is under processing. they won't tell me what the actual status is, waiting kills you know..

here is where I stand.

July 20, 2011 ---- applied for 1-129F

July 22, 2011 ----- received NOA1

Thanks everyone, seems like text is the FIRST way of knowing... this will ease my mind a bit....I may stop calling the 800 number and checking my emails and checking online haha..... I'm a hotmess.com! arghhhh
