Lagos email response time

We are really getting worried. Our petition was forwarded to the wrong embassy. I assume due to the question on the I-129F that asks the last address abroad and we put Turkey. He is now back in Nigeria. I've contacted us embassy in Turkey and they've told me to contact Lagos. I sent an email asking for a change of address and a transfer of the case. The email was sent to Lagos Oct 4th. No response-only an automated respnse. Our petition expires Dec 31st. Has anyone dealt with the embassy in Lagos? What is the average time for a response by email? I've called 3x only to have them tell me to send an email. My fiance is worried and so am I. I try not to let him know that I am concerned, but I have outgrown my patience!

I will continue to call. Everytime I talk to someone and explain the situation, they always tell me to send an email. Its very frustrating! I'm approaching two weeks since I sent the last email. Actually Mon will be two weeks.

When you send your email if you don't get the auto reponse from it you will never hear from them. Someone used to shut off the mail server during their nights so you had to send an email during their open hours.

There is no problem with the expiring date of the petition, It can be renewed on the date of your interview by the Consular officer. It seems like you and your fiancee met in Turkey when you were residing in Turkey and for that reasons you gave them the Turkey address in your petition. Obviously USCIS did not send it to the wrong Consulate, It is becuase of the address you gave to them. Please if i may ask, do you have residence in Turkey or do you just visited Turkey and your fiancee came there to meet you.

Now you have requested for a transfer of your case to Lagos Post for an interview. Please be ready to answer the consular why both of you decided to meet in Turkey. If you have residence there, prepare to show them documentation that you were living in Turkey at that time. if he has visted you in Nigeria thats settles everything. I am just reviewing your information based on your questions to enable you address this issues.

I am happy to know that the petition can be renewed. I was not residing in Turkey, my fiance was there temporarily on a sports visa. There is a question on form I-129F that asks where do you want your petition forwarded. Since they ask this question, we assumed they would send the visa to which ever U.S. embassy that we listed. We knew he would be returning back to Nigeria and had we known that the NVC would use the last address abroad to base where they would send the petition, I would have included a letter of explanation.

I live in the U.S. and I flew to Turkey to meet him. He doesnt have his residency in Turkey. If he had, then there would not have been any issues. I do plan on flying to Nigeria in the next month.

Still no response from Lagos. I called today to explain my situation, the RUDE person that took my call hung the phone up on me. I called back 5 more times thinking that I would get a different person, each time he would cut the call. I am so pissed that I dont know what to do!
