Hello y'all,

I Live in Accra. I'm under f2a. I was interviewed on the 13th of September 2011. Everything went great on my interview day by the Grace of God. I was voluntarily ask if I wanted to do a DNA test to prove if I'm the child of my mum. I said yes. The lady then gave me a DNA letter to send to my mum so she can go through her process. I was also told that when she is done, a test kit will be sent to the embassy for mine to be done and that, they will contact me as soon as the kit arrives. I was then given a nxt yr appointment date in march & was told not to worry cause I'll be contacted 1s everything is ready. My mum contacted the hospital where she did her test and they told her that the test kit arrived @ the embassy on the 23rd of September. I have not been contacted yet. Do I email the embassy or do I wait a lil while... I really wanna know guys.

I think you should, it would not hurt to make an inquiry.

Hey, am also going thru the same exact thing with my son right now. His interview date was on august 2011 and he was asked to also return in march 2012. I did my DNA testing in august and sent his kit but he still hasn't been called till now. My son said the C.O told him it takes 2 months before they will contacted him after his kit is sent. So I have sent an email to the embassy in Accra. A friend who also went thru the DNA process said it took 2 months before the embassy contacted his son for his swabs. Pls share if u get any response back from them n I will also do the same. Thank u. We all r in this together

Guys I am also in the same process for my son. They asked me for a DNA test.So i did that as soon as i came back to the states. So the kit actually got there on 6th of october and they have scheduled for my son to come to the Embassy for the wsap or the sample collection.

But can some one share with us what happens after they have recieved the results and is positive?Would they ask for more stuff or just call or e-mail the parents to pick up the passport?

Well, i went to the embassy on 28th of September and that is when the DNA request was made by the embassy. And i left Ghana on the 30th of September and got here on the on the 1st of October which was Saturday.I did my researches on which lab was the best and found one lab closer to me called Lab Corp.I called them on Monday morning which was the 3rd of October. They collected the fee of $550.00 which included everything.I was scheduled to go in for my test the same day around 1:45 pm .After my test they gave me a FedEx tracking number to track the package.I then tracked the package and realized that they received it on 6th of October and that is on Thursday, which means that it only took 3 days.I gave them an ample time and started emailing and calling them everyday. And they kept telling me i should wait they will contact my family. That never stopped me i continued the same disturbances till finally they sent me an email saying ,my son has been scheduled for the 3rd of November which is today and when i called them they said they have gone and completed everything.

So i think from the day i did my test time the day they actually went for their test is 27 days.

I hope this helps.Meanwhile if you want to talk to me and get more explanation ,i think i can do that too.my email will be aburuki@hotmail.com.Give me your contacts over there and i will call you.

Really happy for you and your son. My mum always calls me to know if I have been contacted but No, not yet. I'm not sure they will ask ur son anything apart from whats on the 221g request sheet. After the DNA Turns out positive I'm pretty sure that's all. Your son will then be giving everything he needs to travel with. I knw it doesn't take that long cause of my 3 brothers case. Wish you and your son all the best. Jst let us know how everything goes after today.

OMG today is the 4th of November. I taught today is the 3rd. See how frustrating this process can get. I want to know if they gave your son a new appointment date or not. Oh and if ur son is 16 and above and doesn't get his visa within the 6 months of the police report duration but gets it later. He Would be asked for another police report before he would be given his passport with the approved visa. If that's the case then you have to prepare. I know this because they did it to my younger brother.
