Forwarded to the listed counsulate???

Hello all, I just received the hard copy of my NOA2, and it states, I qoute: "This above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed counsulate." Is that the samething as saying it was forwarded to the NVC?

Correct. NVC will take somedays to process and sent to consulate. NVC often does not update records about processing the petition until the time is sent out to consulate. There is a way to find out when it arrived to the consulate. Check "DHL trick" here in VJ for details. You are already almost at the end of the tunnel into the interview at consulate!!

You can also call the Department of State visa line and they can tell you when things were received/sent.

Follow the above thread to find the trick but I think it'll only work once NVC have the package. Our NOA2 was sent out on the 7th but NVC don't have it yet, or maybe just not have processed it. You'd have to wait for that first which they say takes up to 15 days (we've been advised that as a rough guideline for our case, but everyone is different I'd guess). I 've read some people have said they've rung NVC a week later and been able to get their updated case number, so you can never tell. Our NOA2 also said 'sent to listed consulate' but on calling the NVC they said that is standard wording and so very rarely if ever would that actually happen. They said ALL petitions are sent to be processed out to relevant embassy's by the NVC. Hope this helps and good luck

Yes! My fiance got the hardcopy yesterday n it said the same thing, we will try to see if they have got it tomorrow, as someone said sometimes they have already a case number in a week, hopefully they are doing thing fast

NVC will process the file, create a Case Number, email you when the case number is created and leaves NVC to the appropriate consulate. Process takes from 10 - 15 days.

DHL trick only works when package has been readied to send out. NVC actually prepares package and arranges pickup by DHL, the day before DHL picks up. I located mine that way.

If you call NVC, they would usually tell you they don't have your petition because often they only update their status when they are delivering out to the consulate.

I'd check processing times at NVC here in VJ (it is a good estimate) and start checking about the date of the estimate. It is fairly obvious in most cases which is your package at the DHL site (there are no names, only destinations); but at worst, if you see something that looks like yours, you can then call NVC next day and it would confirm it.
