It's funny most tea party and republicans want the following

LESS Government in very aspect of our lives.

More Liberties

More Freedom

Less Taxation for 'Corporations' and Less Taxation for Wealthy Americans

Yes on the basic issues which involve social issues

Gay Marriage --- They WANT government to butt in and Decide for You

Abortion -- They WANT government to butt in and Decide for You

Patriot Act -- They WANT more government intrusion into the activities of US Citizens.

How ironic and hypocritical is that? I am glad Cain at least spoke the truth and distanced himself from the other cookie-cutter Republican contenders, but, like someone said, most Republicans are socially super conservative and he will be negatively impacted by speaking out.

Another person figures out that the only difference is WHAT they control. They both want illegal aliens here and otherwise they just want to control different parts your life.

Welcome to the Libertarian party!

I do not believe "most Republicans" are that conservative or even that they are Republican. I also think he will easily pick up as many Dem votes from this as he loses Republicans and if he is nominated where else will Repubs go? Where else will blacks go? Cain has created more jobs for blacks than Obama ever did.

He isn't going to get any Dem votes if he doesn't win the Repub primaries. Blacks? How many blacks do you think there are out there that are registering as a Republican. Very few blacks are even going to be voting in the Republican primaries. The only reason Cain is so high in the polls is because a bunch of rich folks are selfishly thinking 9-9-9 sounds wonderful. Once people start watching Cain in all these debates and Cain keeps opening his mouth, he'll be yesterday's news. The guy is not very smart. This whole abortion issue is the 2nd time this week I have seen him have to come out and "clarify" what he was stating. What he really should be saying is, "Im f*cking clueless, and then my team comes in and tells me what I need to go say to fix it or they correct the misunderstanding for me on twitter."

Cain is starting to look and sound a lot like Perry looked and sounded like in the Florida debate.... clueless.

Romney is the only polished Republican standing in the bunch. He's not extreme and he doesn't pander to the left.. Kinda in the middle.

Remember folks, electing a president of this country has alot to do w/ marketing, and selling yourself, not really your ideas.

He's has private sector experience + Governorship experience. He brought state mandated health care to MA, and his voters liked it. He will likely

repeal Obama Care and give health care to the states and let free market do it's job.

Cain has no chance now. Once he said he support the Choice over Right to life, game over statement. He can't win Republican primary. Mark my words.

Bachman is a retard and half. Newt is very smart and good politician but has no money in the bank.

Santorum.. sorry with a last name like that.. that's a no no..

Paul.. smart guy, but truthfully speaking.. Stopping foreign aid to the world is a very good idea.. but he uttered stopping aid to Israel, and that was his downfall..

Perry.. God , i call him Bush 2.0 but younger.

Cain.

He's done???

I don't think so.

Why doesnt anyone think outside the box?

What's so wrong with someone saying what they believe?

He (Cain) did.

He did not flip-flop.

He just restated his position in different words.

He keeps jumping in the polls.... to ?Everyone's? surprise....???

People like him, cause he's not a politician.

Few states require registration by party for primaries, ours does not. In many states, for primaries, you can vote in either election. Ever hear of "Reagan Democrats"?

Many Repubs are going to make a decision (a good one) on "Who can beat Obama" and black votes is something Cain brings to the table.

The guy is incredibly smart, to say otherwise is ignorant. He was a ballistician for the Navy, that is "rocket science smart". He was on the BoD for several huge, successful corporations and the Federal Reserve. Don't be silly. He is also smart enough to speak plainly and honestly. He remionds me of when great men left a mark on history, now they all seem to not want to leave any fingerprints.

If you want another mealy mouthed politician that relly won;t do anything but maintaina a status quo that helps no one but themselves....choose anyone else, it will make no difference

He isn't the one featured on news show after news show acting like a whiney b*tch, if you do not understand his stance on abortion it is not his problem

These two are nothing alike, Perry to his credit sticks to his guns, he could have "rephrased" a number of things to have kept his momentum but the only thing he backed off of was calling people who don't want to subsidize Illegals educations as "heartless".

That and Cain has a personality which comes in handy in politics.

He also boycotted the last debate. And nobody even knew he was missing!

His problem might be he "needs" a little lube..... thats why he is so grumpy.

Why don't you give us your prediction, sumthin we can hold you to?

Here's my prediction. Cain is peaking right now in the polls. He might win a few primaries but after Romney takes Florida and most of the NE momentum will catch on. He'll sweep Super Tuesday (Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Colorado, Idaho) and we'll know he is the winner by landslide by Wednesday, March 7 (day after super Tuesday).

If by chance it's not over after Super Tuesday, still a close race. Then it boils down to California which currently looks like it will be the last state to vote (Utah doesn't count - that's obvious).

June 5th: California, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, North Dakota Democratic caucuses

June 26th: Utah GOP primary

When it comes to the general I really can't make a prediction 1 year and 2 weeks in advance.....Whatever happens between now and then. The Romney/Obama showdown will be a close match up. In popular vote we're talking about +/- 2.5% either way.

If somehow magically the unemployment rate drops to 8% by then - economy improves - then Obama might pull it off. If we are still going nowhere fast then Romney will take it.

Then again, you'd just have to have your face in the sand if you think without any doubts - Obama is gonna win. Odds are against him. So I'll say Romney 12 - the same thing I predicted back in 2008.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

I think that's generally pretty solid analysis.

The one factor you're not considering is what impact the early primaries - IA, NH, SC, FL can have. We've seen in the past that an underdog candidate wins early (Obama in Iowa 2008, for example) and makes a marginal candidacy into a winner. Who can say that a Perry or Cain or even Bachmann might win a couple of early states and rally the conservative base, and continue that momentum into Super Tuesday and beyond? Remember also that Romney is from MA, neighboring NH. If he loses NH, what does that say about HIS momentum going on?

As to next Nov, yeah, way to early to call. A year is an eternity in politics.
