I would think that you would have to be a resident of Mexico to be the governor of one of its states. Thats what would happen if Tejas ever declared their independence

Texas has a lot of US military assets on its soil. I expect they'd keep it all if they seceded. They'd beat the ####### out of Mexico.

I dont' think so. I think the U.S would ensure that its assets are not nationalized. Not like Tejas would have much choice....

I doubt this country has any real appetite for a violent confrontation with a seceding state. If Texas says they're keeping it the US will likely lodge a diplomatic protest at UN HQ in NYC () and let it go.

In all seriousness, Texas has a pretty good leg to stand on when it comes to secession. Of all the states, they'd probably have the best chance.

California and Washington have the ports facing the right direction.

What's funny is if this country did break up into little pieces all the little pieces would be working together anyway... it's a mean world out there and Kansans still will find that Californians are better partners than Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stanis.

The topic is abortion. Herman Cain just pulled the plug on his own candidacy by coming out of the closet as being pro-choice.

Wow, talk about taking something out of context. The quote was not about abortion. The question was about whether or not he would force one of his family members to raise a child conceived through rape or incest.

MORGAN: Abortion. What’s your view of abortion?

CAIN: I believe that life begins at conception. And abortion under no circumstances. And here’s why —

MORGAN: No circumstances?

CAIN: No circumstances.

MORGAN: Because many of your fellow candidates — some of them qualify that.

CAIN: They qualify but —

MORGAN: Rape and incest.

CAIN: Rape and incest.

MORGAN: Are you honestly saying — again, it’s a tricky question, I know.

CAIN: Ask the tricky question.

MORGAN: But you’ve had children, grandchildren. If one of your female children, grand children was raped, you would honestly want her to bring up that baby as her own?

CAIN: You’re mixing two things here, Piers?

MORGAN: Why?

CAIN: You’re mixing —

MORGAN: That’s what it comes down to.

CAIN: No, it comes down to it’s not the government’s role or anybody else’s role to make that decision. Secondly, if you look at the statistical incidents, you’re not talking about that big a number. So what I’m saying is it ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make.

Abortion under no circumstances but "it ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make. Not me as president, not some politician, not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family, and whatever they decide, they decide. I shouldn't try to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive decision" .... really?

True. Look how many states are dependent on keeping the Mississippi River System open. Seems Louisiana could put a good chunk of the country in a hurt.

Who said Texas wouldn't take those over?

Perhaps Ubeki-beki-beki=beki-stan-stan would step up in the global market after the fall of the United States.

Lousiana is awfully close to Texas!
