So, I've got my interview coming up on nov 28. And I'm getting docs put together and reviewing anything that might be reason for AP after an approved interview....(just in case!)

I was born in India and am a permanent resident in Canada. On my original birth certificate, my last name is not written...only my first name is written.

When I got the birth certificate translated and notorized, they put my first and last name on the translation. I'm just wondering if I need to worry that my last name is not on my birth certificate.

And if so, what are my precautionary options? Notorized letter from my parents? Something along those lines?

In cases where birth certificates from the authorities are unavailable or contain insufficient information regarding the birth or the parents, a sworn affidavit executed by either the parents, if living, or other close relatives older than the applicant, may be submitted. It should set forth the relationship between the deponent and the applicant, how well the deponent knows the applicant, date and place of the applicant's birth, the names of both parents, and any other related facts.

That was all I could find for you.

Its really not a big deal at all. I have seen many cases where people dnt have their last name on their birth certificate. You can take secondary evidence like:-

:-Higher School Transcripts (if that has your last name)

:-Notorized letters from your uncle or Aunt or any of your family member!!

This would just be more than enough !!!

That's wonderful; hopefully you're smoothly on your way to getting the visa in the mail soon!

I'm a permanent resident here in Canada...wondering if you know whether they ask for that card eyre at the interview. I have proof of my status here, but my actual card is being renewed so i probably won't have that at the interview. That's another whole waiting process!

Any idea based on your experience?

They don't interview you in Canada unless you are Canadian or have proof of your legal resident status or proof of legal status in Canada.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

Oh yes, of course. I don't think I asked my question correctly. I do have proof of my status in Canada...I'm basically wondering if my original landing document is sufficient for the interview since my resident card is being renewed?

They had also asked me for proof of status prior to packet 3 and I had sent them copies of my document and my expired card explaining the situation. Just curious if I'll experience issues with this at the interview, even though they were given copies of the docs I'm using earlier...
