Hello All,

I am a little concerned and confused about my fiance's journey to the US. I am a US citizen by birth. He is a Cameroonian. We plan to marry next month. Based on the my research, I am to file an I-I30, but reading through the forums, the IR-1/CR-1 seems to be the faster choice??? What other forms will I need to ensure my "husband" arrives. I am not sure what the NOA 1 and NOA 2 are and I've even seen that some are posting of a IV Bill.........who knew this process could be so overwhelming. Please help! It will be greatly appreciated.

I-130 is an IR-1/CR-1 Spousal Visa.

http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare

I-130 is the petition number. Seems you may want to do some more research.

Check out the step by step guide its pretty good. http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1 and

NOA1 = the first notice saying they got your petition

NOA2 = the second notice saying its APPROVED.

RFE = request for evidence.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

This is incorrect. An I-130 is NOT any kind of visa. It is a petition, which when filed for a spouse of a US Citizen, begins the path toward a CR1 or IR1 visa. Please never confuse people by referring to petitions as visas or visa applications.

NOA2 is usually thought of as the approval notice and commonly is. But the second notice could be either an RFE or a denial.

Thank you so much! I will happily keep you updated on our progress. I am still anxious and excited about this process because I realize it teaches so much patience!

We are trying to get everything together to prepare to file for the petition after we marry on 11/21, does anyone know how long police clearance/reports are good for in Cameroon? He is considering getting this done since he has to travel extensively for the report in his hometown. I've read where the reports are valid for up to one year. Is this true?

The police report is not needed for filing the petition. It isn't needed until after the petition is approved.

This isn't needed until yer at the NVC intake stage for an IR-1/CR-1 Visa, or a few days prior to interview day if a K-3 visa.

Relax a bit, nowish.
