Calling Congressman WORKS!!!!!!

well, it always depends WHO the Congressman is...lol.

In my case, I wanted my EAD expedited bc of a firm job offer. My USC husband called his Congressman and my EAD was approved OVERNIGHT. Then, lo and behold, we got our AOS interview a month later. It was a very speedy 2-month process for us and I do believe it is because of our Congressman's help.

Some Congressmen care, others dont. Thats why some get re-lected and others dont lol I know ours does care, he even sent ME a letter thanking me for appealing to his office. His paryt and he can sure count on MY vote when I become a USC one day.

Anyway, nothing risked, nothing gained. No harm in giving it a shot. I posted the steps in a link in the July Thread Filers AOS from Work or Tourist visas if interested.

You hit it straight on the head! :bonk: :bonk: Not everyone is always lucky or qualified for the Expedite request. My congressman did make me understand I needed more paper work to qualify and I am sure if USCIS had denied my Expedite request he would have taken it up with them. Congressmen Help and it is up to you to find a way of getting through to them. I am happy I got through to them and my EAD is on the way and I believe it wont take more than a week after that for my Interview letter to arrive. No matter what anyone says I believe my congressman had so much to do with it because USCIS happens to be the laziest GOVT office in this country!!!!

What they can do in a week they take two months to do as they just leave cases laying on their tables without doing anything about them

Ok so I sent a letter and called my congressman on monday 24th requesting an expedite of my EAD. He called back on Tuesday saying that my EAD & AP had been approved on the 25th (the same day he called), and I should get it in the mail in 2-3 weeks. He also said USCIS never says they approve it beacuse congress called, but it seems like his call brings the application to the top of their pile.

So i guess since there were no major problems with my application, his call made them approve it faster.

My status online still says inital review, but i'm hoping he is right and my EAD will turn up in the post any day now...

The RFE was something I couldn't get. It was the I-864..... No one was willing to sign it and I gave up about the whole process but someone came along and helped me out. That is why it took so long for me to get back to USCIS
