You know the RFE was reviewed five days before you called your congressman, and yet you think his phone call got the EAD approved? And you know (or probably not) that processing of the rest of the case resumes when the RFE is reviewed?

I hope you aren't voting for this guy because you think he helped you.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

Trust me, his inquiries made it happen. Most times when they receive RFEs it takes them atleast 3 weeks to act on it. In this case I called the congressman today and the next day he forwards me the email USCIS sent to him tell him my EAD was ordered and that they reviewed my case and put it in queue for interview. I am expecting my EAD and interview letter to come on the same day which should be about 7 days from now

Trust me when I say it had nothing to do with your congressman contacting them. USCIS does what they want when they want. Your number was just in line. We have had our congressman submit an inquiry too and it didn't help out at all. We just received a letter from USCIS addressed to my congressman that says not to be alarmed by how long the case is taking to process that it will be done when they are ready basically. But believe what you wish.

I don't agree with this(the 3 weeks thing that is) and i dont't the congressman had anything to do with the quick approval. It didn't take 3 weeks for them to review my RFE and the EAD was ordered shortly after. Patience is the name of the game. Good luck on the rest of your journey

If you don't know who your congressman is then just google who is my congressman. It will bring up a page that ask for some information about where you live and it will direct you to their website. Just call them and they will send, email, or fax you some release forms and ask for some information about what has been going on with your case. Send those forms back to them and ask they contact USCIS to request an expedite of your EAD based on a job offer and they can do that for you. Good luck.

www.congress.org..... From there you fill in your zipcode and it brings all the representatives...... And it is not just calling them and asking for Expedited EAD..... They ask basic questions like why you want it expedited. I told them about hardship and told them we were behind on so many bills. He asked to see the bills which I was able to send. When I sent them all he called me back saying you owe less than 1k that may not be very helpful. If you have other bills send them in. Then I got my school bills which is over 17k (Since they want something big) also got my wife's medecals bills close to 1k and sent everything in. And then he was satisfied and put my request in.

For people who think congressmen dont help you have not tried it. The put in your request for Expedited EAD. I did it before and was turned down by USCIS because they didn't give me the avenue to give them proof I needed the document, but in this case the congressman has access to them and can fax things you couldn't fax to them.

I still and will always believe that the congressman had a lot top do with my EAD because it took basically 24hrs after I contacted him and I read the email he got back from USCIS so I am more than convinced he helped. He has 2 votes from my Household alread   My wife's Vote and her sister's

Believe me when I tell you that during our AOS, I called my congressman. And wrote letters also. Two of them. Got responses to both of them also. We had to buy two EAD's while my husband waited on his green card. Call it BS if you want but I know how this process works. Your congressman had diddly squat to do with your EAD approval. Your case was reviewed before you even called him!

I agree that having a valid job offer is a good reason to call for help. I also believe that people shouldn't be ringing up their representative every time there is a fart in their personal windstorm. You wouldn't believe the immigration horror stories some of these congressional aides are dealing with. Not having an EAD in 10 minutes isn't one of them. Not even close.

I'm glad your EAD is on its way. Just realize that it was the system doing what it's supposed to do. Not congressional pull.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

well, it always depends WHO the Congressman is...lol.

In my case, I wanted my EAD expedited bc of a firm job offer. My USC husband called his Congressman and my EAD was approved OVERNIGHT. Then, lo and behold, we got our AOS interview a month later. It was a very speedy 2-month process for us and I do believe it is because of our Congressman's help.

Some Congressmen care, others dont. Thats why some get re-lected and others dont lol I know ours does care, he even sent ME a letter thanking me for appealing to his office. His paryt and he can sure count on MY vote when I become a USC one day.

Anyway, nothing risked, nothing gained. No harm in giving it a shot. I posted the steps in a link in the July Thread Filers AOS from Work or Tourist visas if interested.
