Has anyone heard about the reduction in the DV visa fee: in Belgrade, Serbia I saw that it is now $440 per applicant, instead of $819 http://serbia.usembassy.gov/dv.html as of February 2, 2012 (yesterday) I asked them and they say it is worldwide, but I don't see it on my local embassy site....

It's listed under fees in the diversity visa applicants steps (step 4): http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1263.html#perm $440.

School credentials, banks statements, proff of where you will be staying in the Us( they dont need this but better to go with more thanl less). Birth Certificate, medical report from embassy approved clinic, current report, passport photos, visa fees communications with KCC just in case something needs clarification.

I strongly suggest to postpone the interview until you have all required documents. Otherwise you risk not getting visa approved (and losing $440).

Postponing a DV interview can be dangerous. By the time they reschedule you there may no longer be visas available. You could try the postponed interview as it is still fairly early. You could also try going with what you have and hope they give you a demand for more. If they aren't satisifed with the results you have , but you pass in every other way they should just ask for the right papers.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

And yet if he does go to the interview without a crucial document( I presume he said he has high school finished, so eligible by education, not by work experience) of education he can and will be flatly denied, with no second chance. One needs to understand that DV lottery visa is a one chance visa: if you don't provide what is needed from the first go, you don't get it. It's that simple.

I wish OP good luck, in whatever decision he makes.

Thanks so much everyone. Am in Nigeria. I am presenting combined results for my SSCE. One is ready and i was told d oda one wil be ready early next year and same wt my OND result. Pls, what do i do?

@Dejie4live,

Did you try calling the US embassy in Lagos and asking them this question? They should be able to answer this for you.

I suggest you call them tomorrow, and also double check for the price of the DV visa (their website still states $819 which has been changed as of February 2nd to $440!)Good luck, and let us know what the answer from the embassy was.

Thanks so much to everyone who has taken time out at one time or the other, painstakingly just to comment on my profile, i say a very big THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU ALL. I had a successful Dv-visa interview @ the U.S Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria. Though, the WASSCE certificate also became an issue bt the C.O (a female) accepted the SSCE cert i took and didnt ask for the other since she has seen one certificate but gave me a hell of bothers asking about 20 or more questions ranging from my SSCE,OND and present University final year courses... IT WAS JUST BY HIS GRACE. ALL THE GLORY AND HONOUR BELONGS TO THE MOST HIGH GOD. Thanks to you all once again as i dont want to mention names- God bless you all-Amen!
