If you come to the US you will get a green card rather quickly but probably closer to 6 weeks. You can travel during the 5 years but you need to maintain the US as your home ( stay here more than any other place) the safe thing to do is never travel more than 6 months a year. After 5 years you can apply to be a USC. You must pass a test and not have been in trouble with the law. Once you b ecome a US citizen then you can get a US passport.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You can invite friends anytime with a tourist visa. All you need is write them a letter.

You can sponsor wife anytime, take 2 years instead of 1 with k1 visa.

it s call family reunification.

This is true for US citizens that DV winners are 5 years from (at least - if they meet requirements). GC holder can not apply for K-1 visa and bringing wife on CR-1/IR-1 takes at least three years now (due to numerical limits).

What do you mean "invite"? I would hope you included your wife and children (if you have any) in the application you sent to KY, and that they would be accompanying you on their visas as well.

If you mean invite family and friends for a visit, they have to get tourist visas.

Thanks but after obtaining a greencard, when can one invite his wife, family or friends.

It takes more than a letter to invite friends , for Nigeria they must prove that they will return after visiting, When Nigerians try for a visitors visa the number that get a visa run about 1% of those that try. Also you must be a USC to file a K1 visa.

Your can do your plan but it takes a while for a visa to be available for the wife of a LPR, a couple of years. But if you get your USC you can upgrade the petition at that point.

Hello house,

I've been invited for a DV lottery interview slated for 2nd March, 2012. My friend helped me to apply for it in October, 2010, he never knew my fiance was pregnant then, so entered it as single. That same October ending, i went ahead to pay her bride price (pictures available), she delivered in March, 2011 (pictures available) and we did our normal wedding "church & reception" (Pictures & marriage certificate available) in October, 2011 before sending the form 230 part 1 &2 and DS122. Now av been invited for an interview with my wife & 10months old daughter as beneficiaries. I also apply wt my HND certificate and my wife's Bsc certificate. Please what are the likely questions?

Please help me out.

I want to assume that when you say you have been invited ith your wife and babay as beneficiaries, it means KCC is aware of the marriage?

Just be ready to show proof that the marriage is real, they will like to know when you guys met, got married etc. They would like to be sure you wre not married at the time of application. Then they will also focus on your education and want to confirm that the documents are genuine.any other question is at the discretion of the consular officer and hopefully nothing raises eyebrows about your case. Be confident and relaxed. All the best.
